Summary: Continuation from part 1
Warning(s): none :)---
"Uh, Derek, what just happened?" Penelope asks him, clearly shocked. "I think we just kissed." Derek replied, just as shocked as her. Suddenly, the door opened just as a scary scene had come up. The two yelled out and jumped, making Savannah laugh hard at the door. "I didn't mean to scare you guys. You're having a movie night without me?"
"I thought you had to work," Derek questioned her, ignoring her question. "I got someone else to cover my shift. So, what are we watching?" Savannah asks, walking over, pecking Derek on the lips. Penelope grabbed her purse, "I should go. I'll, uh, see you guys later. Nice seeing you, Savannah." She says quickly as she bolted out the door. Savannah turned to Derek, raising an eyebrow. "What's up with her?"
Derek shrugged, but he knew damn well what was going on. Savannah decided to let it go and pulled Derek in, "So, have you thought about what I said the other day?"
Derek thought about what Penelope had advised him, and he sighed, smiling sadly at her. "We need to talk."

Meanwhile, Penelope was bolting back to her apartment, completely forgetting that Derek had driven them back to his house, but luckily, she didn't live terribly far, maybe 15 minutes away. She finally went inside her apartment, completely out of breath. All of a sudden, her boyfriend, Kevin, walked out with a towel around his waist. How long had he been there?
"Kevin, what the hell! How long have you been here?"
"Since work was let out, which was hours ago. Where were you?" Kevin asks, frowning at her. Penelope went into her kitchen, grabbed a water bottle and drank water before answering him, "I had to study for my computer tech exam. I stayed. I thought they told you."
"Well, they said you were there and then you weren't, so you went somewhere else." He says, walking closer to her. Penelope sighed, "I don't need to tell you where I am every second of the day, you know."
"You can't text me, or call me?"
Penelope scoffed in disbelief, "I'm sorry, since when do I need to text or call you about where I'm going? If you wanna know that bad, then I was hanging out at Derek's."
Kevin shook his head, "I know you two are close, Penelope, but maybe you're just a little too close to him, do you know what I'm saying?" Penelope shot him glares, "What does that mean?"
"It means, that I wouldn't even be surprised if you cheated on me with him."
Penelope had enough. Sure, she and Derek kissed on the mouth tonight, but before that, it was all just platonic! "You know what, I had never cheated on you with Derek, Kevin, and I'm sorry you're so insecure about our friendship, but I will admit something that happened tonight that had NOT happened previous times. He and I kissed tonight, and truth be told, it was nice. I'm not going to lie about that," She says angrily, "And you know what? I'm tired of your jealous ass so I'm breaking up with you. Grab your clothes and anything you own from here and get out of my apartment."
Kevin just stared at her, not knowing what to say. "Penelope-"
"NOW." She says, pushing him back into the bathroom for him to change.
-
"I'm sorry you feel that way, Derek." Savannah sighed, as she and Derek were at the front door. "I'm sorry too, Savannah. You deserve someone who's as ready as you are. I'm not that guy. Oh and uh, I should probably tell you what happened tonight with Penelope tonight." He tells her, and Savannah chuckled. "I know about it, Derek. I saw you two moments before I opened the door. I had a feeling you two were bound to be something more.""Well, she and I have always been platonic, and when we kissed-"
"I don't need to know any details, Derek. I wish you the best and uh, Penelope's a great girl. She's a little weird, but she's great. Don't let her go."
Derek smiled at his now ex, who smiled back at him. "Goodnight."
"Night."
After Savannah left, Derek pressed his back against the door. He knew he should call Garcia, who was probably with Kevin right now, but he didn't care. He needed to hear her voice. He dialed her number, and after a few rings, she finally picked up. "Derek, hey, listen, can you come to my place? Please? I just broke up with Kevin."
"Sure, baby girl. I'll be right there."-
Derek arrived at her apartment, knocking on her door and Penelope answered it quickly, "Derek I told Kevin about what happened with us tonight. He needed to know." Derek chuckled, "I told Savannah about it too. Well, actually, she saw it before she opened my front door. She and I ended things too, and surprisingly, she took it well."
"I can't say the same thing for Kevin." Penelope sighed as Derek walked in. "Was he upset?"
"Yeah. He was pissed I didn't call him or text him where I was at." She sat on the couch, pouring a glass of wine. "Only an immature boyfriend would do something like that." Derek teased her, and she giggled, playfully smacking him. "You're right, he is immature."
Derek sighed before turning to her. "We do need to talk about that kiss though."
Penelope nodded, putting her glass down. "Yeah, I know. What does it mean?" Derek shrugged, "Whatever you want it to mean. I personally kind of liked it." Penelope gasped, startling Derek a little, making him laugh. "I did too!"
"Really?"
"Yeah. But I'm worried that it might ruin our friendship."
Derek took her hands and looked her in the eyes, "Baby girl, nothing could ruin our friendship. I will not let it. I do want to give this a shot if you want to." Penelope smiled, nodding, "Yeah, I want that too."
"Okay, then, Penelope Garcia, would you like to go on a date with me Saturday night?" Derek asks with confidence, and Penelope giggled at his tone, "I would love to, Derek Morgan."
Derek caressed her cheek before softly kissing her lips, and for the rest of the night, they did nothing but talk or watch movies, which they might end up regretting, considering they had jobs to go to in the morning.
