Summary: JJ and Hotch have always been there for each other. They're close, even when the other team members don't realize it. From the start, JJ always felt something for her boss, but he was married and had a kid on the way, so she couldn't do anything about it. Now, Hotch is divorced with a 3 year old in the middle of it, and JJ is married with a little boy of her own on the way, and for a little bit, Hotch begins to feel something for JJ even though he knew he shouldn't, and JJ knows better than to revisit her old feelings...right?

Warning(s): Since JJ is married, she and Hotch have a moment so it's considered cheating which I DON'T CONDONE AT ALL IRL BTW IT'S JUST AN IMAGINE :))) I lowkey ship them on the show tbh

Hotch couldn't sleep. He'd close his eyes and felt like all hope was lost. It was really hard to look over on the other side of the bed he used to share with his wife, Haley, but she left him and took Jack along with her. Even though he was given visitation rights, he still felt as though Haley wasn't being fair to him. Yes, he works a lot, travels a lot, but he's still a father. Suddenly, his alarm began to ring which meant it was time to get up to go to work. He realized he barely even slept in the few hours he had. He sighed and got up to get ready for work.

Jennifer Jareau was already up, as morning sickness took her over. Will was at her side, pulling her hair back as she threw up in the toilet. She knew being pregnant had its moments like these, but she couldn't wait for it to be over. "Atta girl, Jayje," Will whispers as she got up, going to the sink and washed her face. "How many more months of this?" She groaned, and Will chuckled, "At least 6 more."

"This pregnancy is taking forever." She sighs as she turned to her husband as he caressed her face. "Babe, our little one will be here before we know it. Keep your head up, alright?" He pressed his lips on hers as he walked out, and JJ sighed, looking at the time. It was 7 AM, which meant it was time to get ready for work.

JJ walked into the BAU, looking tired, making the others chuckle as she went passed their desks. "Hey JJ, I have some ginger ale for you if you need it," Spencer Reid spoke up, and JJ turned around and smiled at her friend as he walked over and handed it to her, "Thanks Spence."

"No problem. Was it bad this morning? The nausea?" He asks, and JJ nodded. "Yeah, Will had to put my hair back."

"It's completely normal for morning sickness to occur every day. Did you know that morning sickness can last throughout your pregnancy, even rarely up until the end of your pregnancy? I've never met anyone who's gone through that, but I can only imagine-"

"Reid. Stop." Derek Morgan tells him. Spencer nodded in embarrassment, knowing he was rambling again. JJ chuckled as she went to her office. She placed the ginger ale on her desk, and pulled out her phone to see a text message from Will.

"Have a good day at work. Luv u xoxo."

JJ smiled weakly at the text, and sighed, right as Aaron Hotchner walked into her office. "Morning," He says, placing files on her desk, and JJ mentally cursed to herself. It's going to be one long day, as long as there was no case. "Morning, sir." She says, sitting down at her desk. "JJ, we've been through this. You don't have to call me sir." Hotch chuckles lightly. JJ placed her hand on her stomach, looking up at her boss, whom she's always found attractive. In the earlier days, she'd always had a crush on him but he was married with a son on the way, so she couldn't do anything about it. Well, now she's married and pregnant, and he's newly divorced. How ironic.

"It's a habit, sorry."

Hotch cleared his throat, "So how's the, uh, pregnancy going?" JJ sighed, "I feel nauseous all the time." She opened the files, and began to look at them. "Want me to help you with these? I was supposed to have a meeting with Strauss but she had a last minute meeting with the director so I've got some time." JJ chuckled, looking up at her boss, who was towering over her now. "That's not really necessary, Hotch. I can get these-" It was too late though. Hotch grabbed a nearby chair and sat next to her as he grabbed a file, and looked at her. "It's really no problem."

JJ knew arguing with him would be useless so she let him stay as they tackled on the files.

A few glances every 5 minutes or so were exchanged, and JJ could feel herself pick back up on the old feelings she had for her boss, which was wrong. Maybe it was the pregnancy making her feel this way? She wasn't sure. As for Hotch, he's always loved JJ and had always had her back, but lately, things have shifted in another direction for him. When he and Haley broke up, JJ was there for him and offered him kind advice, which he took, and slowly but surely, he began to feel something for her that he just couldn't shake off. He knew she was married and now is pregnant, and he knew he couldn't chase after her, but no matter what he tried to do, he just couldn't stay away.

After a little while, the files were complete, and Hotch stood up and grabbed them. "So, uh, we just saved ourselves hours of work. If we don't get a case, we might just be able to go home early tonight."

JJ smiled and nodded, "I hope we don't get a case."

"Me too." Hotch says, about to walk out of her office. "Hotch, wait-" JJ wasn't sure what she was doing, but she couldn't keep her feelings in anymore. He turned around, waiting for her to speak. "This is going to be completely unprofessional, but I can't keep this from you anymore," She started to speak, and Hotch came back in the room and closed the door. "I, uh, before I met Will, I, um, I've been feeling something for you that I shouldn't have, and uh, it's been eating me alive. I...don't know if it's the pregnancy making me feel this way now, but I think...I think those feelings are starting to come back, which is so messed up considering I'm having a baby with a man who loves me. Saying all of this isn't fair to him, but I really don't want to live with this lie anymore, so um, I just thought you should know."

Hotch took in all her words, and was surprised, but he was also happy, considering he shared the same feelings. "JJ, I love you." He spoke out, "Like, I love love you, and I've been feeling so bad about it since you're married with a baby on the way, and I don't want to be the bad guy to mess your marriage up. I like Will. I think he's a good fit for you, and he'll be the best dad to your little one. I like how close we are, and if us being friends is our only option, I will take it because I'd rather not lose you."

JJ exhaled, taking in his words. "Yeah, me too. But um, before we're officially just friends.." JJ knew this was wrong but she needed to do it for closure's sake. If she and Will end up breaking up in the future, maybe she and Hotch could have a shot. But right now, if this wasn't what Hotch wanted, she had to respect that. She walked over to him, and pressed her lips on his. Hotch smiled through the kiss and deepened it before pulling away.

"I, should, uh, go back to my office. Rossi is probably wondering where I am." He says, and JJ nodded, as he opened the door and walked out, and JJ closed her door again as she stifled a sob. She got what she wanted, well, sort of, but now she could focus on what really matters: her little family.
