Taehyung's POV:
"Ah alright then" she said and I nodded. I knew she were talented and skilled, and having her by my side as a team member felt right, even if I wanted more than just a professional relationship with her.. but it's okay.
"Good. Then you're in." I said and my gaze was lingered on her for a moment longer, my eyes admiring her features as always, before I turned away, resuming my usual cold demeanor. "You're going to participate missions with us from tomorrow."
As days passed, she slowly but surely adapted to our mafia world. Despite being a newcomer, she excelled beyond expectations in all missions we embarked on. Her quick thinking and adaptability made her a valuable asset to our team. No one could have predicted that she would fit in so seamlessly, but it was clear that she had a natural talent for this life. She was proving herself to be a force to be reckoned within our ranks.
One Day, As she successfully completed yet another mission, I issued a cold yet respectful acknowledgment of her work. "Good job, Miss Choi." I said, my tone betraying no emotion. Regardless of my impassive exterior, however, I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for her abilities. She had impressed me with her efficiency and determination, and I was beginning to see the potential she held within herself. Despite my attempts to keep my feelings hidden, I couldn't deny that I was growing increasingly fond of her
"I'm glad that you're satisfied, Mr. Kim" she said. A hint of a small smile tugged at the corners of my lips at her words. There was something about the way she addressed me as 'Mr. Kim' that sent a small shiver down my spine. But I quickly regained my composure and responded coldly again,
"Your capabilities have exceeded my expectations," I said as my voice betraying nothing of the emotions that stirred within me
"We have a new mission at hand," I said as my voice was holding a sense of authority. "When do you want to start? It's ultimately up to you. The team will be moving forward with the preparations, and I'll be involved in the process as well."
"From now." She said
That's my girl..
"Very well, from now on, We'll begin planning and preparing immediately. The team will be working closely together to ensure the success of this mission. Make sure you're ready to contribute your full effort as well."
She slightly nodded, "I'll.. as always"
*Time skip*
The scene was intense as she and the "The Kim's" as known as my gang followed the enemy car through the chaotic streets. My mind was solely focused on the mission, adrenaline pumping through my veins. I glanced at her intermittently, keeping track of her position and making sure she were safe, I pushed down any thoughts about our relationship, knowing that in this moment, we were team members first, and anything else came secondary. Suddenly, our enemy's car made a sharp turn,
"Watch out, they're turning!" I yelled out a warning to the team. We veered after the car, the chase growing more strenuous by the second. I could feel the pressure mounting, my heart was racing as I steered the car through traffic, the other vehicles blurring around us. We entered a darker, less populated part of the city, the car's headlights cutting through the shadows. I knew the chances of things going wrong in areas like this increased significantly, but I didn't let that deter me. I pushed the car to its limits, my grip was tightening on the steering wheel, I glanced over at her again, I hated bringing her into such dangerous situations, but I knew she were capable and reliable. And truth be told, I felt reassured having her by my side
As we continued the chase, my mind briefly flickered to how much she'd changed in the time she'd been training under mr. She were no longer the soft, innocent person I'd known before. She were strong, resilient, capable of holding her own in situations like this.
"THEY'RE GETTING OUT OF THE CAR!!" She yelled and my eyes widened as I saw the enemies abandoning their car and heading into a nearby abandoned building. My heart thumped loudly in my chest,
"Damnit, they're running! We need to get into that building. Let's go!" I led the charge, the entire gang was hot on my heels. We raced towards the building, our footfalls were echoing through the dimly lit streets. As we reached the entrance of the building, I didn't hesitate. I burst through the door, my eyes were darting around, searching for any sign of the fleeing targets. "Be careful guys." She whispered "Stay sharp" I whispered back. As the team separated, I kept a keen eye on her as always, watching as she moved through the shadows. I could sense her determination and focus, her training coming into play as she navigated the dangerous environment with a level of skill that both impressed and worried me...Suddenly, a noise echoed through the building, a distant door slamming shut. My eyes narrowed. That wasn't a random noise = that was the sound of our enemies moving around, probably trying to find a way out or a place to hide
"THERES THE LEADER!!" She yelled all of a sudden
"There! Don't let him escape!" Without thinking, I shouted to the team
She pointed her gun at him, "DONT U DARE TO MOVE AN INCH" and enemy's leader laughed like a psychopath. "Oh really?" chuckled the enemy leader, turning to face her, an arrogant smirk on his face. "You've got nerve, I'll give you that, but can you actually back up all that bravado?" he said and he pointed the gun at me. As the enemy leader pointed the gun at me, time seemed to slow down, the world around her freezing for a moment.
"MOTHERFUCKER KEEP DOWN THE GUN"
"Or what? you going to try and stop me? I'm the one holding the gun, darling, I'm the one in control here"
"Touch him and DIE." She said dangerously as she was still pointing her gun at him, and he was still pointing his gun at me
"You're pretty feisty, I'll give you that. But you don't scare me. I can pull this trigger anytime I want."
