A MONTH had gone by, the girls quickly approaching their week break from basketball before March Madness heavy training begins, Jenessa and Paige still weren't on friendly terms, the blonde blocking her out.
However, on Valentine's day they went out on a date, posting many pictures about it to their feeds. Keeping up with the media, and making sure they still believed the fact that the two were in a happy, loving relationship was a draining task. Jenessa had constantly been trying to make it easier on the two by clearing the air, but Paige seriously wasn't having any of it.
The whole ordeal had been taking a huge hit on Jenessa's mental health, her previous battles with it making it harder to handle. She'd been putting on a fake smile, acting as if she was her same old bubbly self, but in the privacy of her room at night, old habits and thoughts came creeping in.
Caitlin could tell her best friend was struggling, and thats why she planned a secret trip over their break with Gabbie Marshall and Kate Martin.
"Guys, come on!" Caitlin hurried the two, dragging them by their arms into Gampel where Jenessa and the Uconn team were currently having their final practice. "Jesus, Caitlin! I dont want to go in there I am terrified of them." Gabbie whines, wanting to wait for their old teammate and close friend to come out.
"I've already talked to Geno, he said we're good to go in at 4pm! They'll be in the change room and we'll walk in all cool and she'll freak!" Caitlin excitedly claps, she hadn't seen Jenessa since August, it was the middle of February.
"Alright ladies, good practice. I'll see you all here same time next week." Geno states, everyone in a huddle. "Huskies on three...1, 2, 3-"
"Huskies!"
Jenessa wiped the sweat off her forehead, Geno had worked them to the bone for the past 3 hours. "That man, needs to get laid." KK huffs, leaning on JJ as they walk into the change room. "Ew! KK!" Jenessa cringes, shoving the freshman girl.
"Nah, for once- I agree." Nika exhales, throwing her body onto the bench in front of her locker. Jenessas eyes wandered over to Paige who was untying her shoes. "Im gonna rinse off." The brunette says, putting her hand on KK's shoulder as she stands up, heading for the showers.
She strips down, rinsing off in cold water quickly before stepping out in a towel. She put on her sports bra and grey sweatpants, she walked back out into the change room, throwing on her green hoodie but not missing the way Paiges eyes burned a hole in her body.
"Im so jealous of your abs." Nika pouts, making Jenessa laugh. "Have you seen yours?" She says, sitting down and tying up her white sneakers. Jenessa hears the door open behind her, the room going silent and she takes a quick glance, turning back after seeing three familiar figures.
