Chapter 34

Violet was sat at her kitchen table reading over the email she has been sent by her current COO, stating they were handing in their notice due to personal reasons and would be leaving in a week time, she replied to the email saying they were going to be greatly missed since they had joined the business at the very beginning. Violet sat back and rubbed her forehead since she would now have to look for a new COO and new it was going to cause a few long nights at the office, she heard her phone ring and saw it was her CFO ringing since they probably have been told also. "Hello" Violet said down the phone "Miss Luthor I'm guessing you have seen the email" her CFO said to her "Yes I have, I will be looking for a new COO as soon as possible, however I was wondering if you could help as well, since I'm busy for the next few weeks" Violet asked sighing, her and Autumn were getting married in a month, and Violet still hadn't asked her brother to be her Man Of Honour or anyone to be her bridesmaids yet. "I will start looking, how about we have a meeting mid-week to discuss this and have a catch up" she heard in response "that would be great thank you" Violet said and put the phone down. She knew her CFO was brilliant at her job, she had hired her 2 years ago when her board members started to realise that she was juggling to many jobs in the company, and made her hire a CFO, its not like she wanted to do the job but she hadn't been able to hire anyone at the time. She closed her laptop when she heard the doorbell ring, she knew it wasn't Autumn since she was a work and she wouldn't of rang the doorbell, she got up and saw it was her brother Paul "hey curls come in" Violet said and let her brother in to her home "I was shocked when I found out you was at home today instead of the office" Paul said and followed Violet into the dining room and saw that Violet was working still "I'm working, but I felt sick this morning so I decided to stay home" Violet said and sat down where she was sitting before.

Paul sat opposite his sister and saw she looked rundown, he hadn't seen her for 2 weeks since the night of the karaoke when everyone was together "how you feeling now" Paul asked Violet "still queasy but I'm drained curls, I have a wedding to plan, a company to run and now how to hire a new COO" Violet explained and placed her head in her hands on the table "I think you need to take a personal day and not do any work Platinum" Paul said and saw Violet look at him like he was insane "don't look at me like that" Paul said and Violet broke out into a small smile. "What are you doing here" Violet asked a few minutes later looking at her brother "I wanted to see how you was doing since I haven't seen you for 2 weeks" Paul said not letting his blonde sister know that Autumn has messaged him that morning saying that Violet was not doing good and was crying about Charlotte not speaking to her, "I'm tired but that's normal for me, I actually want to ask you something but haven't had the chance too" Violet said and Paul looked at his sister wondering what it was she wanted to ask him "you can ask me anything Platinum" Paul said moving closer to his sister by moving seats "I was wondering if you would stand with me and my bridesmaids at my wedding as my Man Of Honour, instead of me having a Maid of Honour" Violet said and saw her brother looking at her and she could tell he didn't expect to be asked that "Platinum, I would be honoured, but what about Char, I thought you would've asked her" Paul said and pulled Violet in for a hug and felt Violet stiffen at the mention of Charlotte.

Paul let Violet go and gently pulled her off her seat and walked her into the living room and made her sit down on the couch "what has happened with Char" Paul asked and heard Violet sigh and sink into the couch "I actually don't know, I thought we were slowly getting better, I know at first I was ignoring her and didn't let her have access to the company or answer her calls, but I was hurt and I could bare to be around her, then after we talked outside the other week I thought we would be slowly getting better" Violet explained and felt herself getting emotional "but I tried ringing her, messaging her and even inviting her to lunches at different places or even for dinner here but I didn't get a response not even once" Violet continued and shoved her phone into her brothers lap after opening the texts messages between her and Charlotte and watched as Paul read the messages. Paul took the phone and saw the messages and saw it was just messages from Violet and no reply from Charlotte not even once "what about the karaoke night" Paul asked and handed the phone back to his sister and saw the tears in her eyes fall "she hugged me and that's it, I see more of Mia then I do my sister, Mia comes to the office once a week for lunch, she messages and rings to see how I am, she even comes round for dinner twice a week with Gee and Jelly bean but Charlotte doesn't come at all" Violet said and was full blown sobbing now, Paul pulled his sister in for a hug and held her until her sobs slowly subsided.
