It's been a week since I got to the Survey Corps Head Quarters, and everything was just perfect. I got to meet several nice people, like Petra. She's amazing, she helped me out with my 3DMG. I was having some trouble with my cape being behind me, so she helped me out, told me, I would get used to it and that it just becomes part of me.

Me and Petra became great friends,"So (y/n). How old are you, really?" She smiled. I giggled and said 18, but my birthday is coming up so I'll be 19 in three days."

"Three days!? We have to celebrate! No birthday can go unnoticed!" She smiled brightly. I laughed and shook my head,"No, it's ok. We really didn't celebrate them when I was younger. I'm fine."

Petra pouted and said,"You're having a birthday party, whether you like it or not." 

I rolled my eyes and said,"Well I don't like it-"

"Who's birthday is it?!" Isabel asked, popping her head out from behind me. I groaned as Petra smiled, answering her question,"It's (y/n)'s. It's in three days. It doesn't give us much time to come up with a present, but we can do it!"

I groaned louder and said,"You don't have to! I'm fin-"

"Nonsense child! You must have this." Isabel said quickly, slapping a hand over my mouth. I sighed, giving up as they yelled in victory. I smirked and licked Isabel's hand, making her jump back and wipe it on Petra,"Ah! Gross! What the hell Isabel!? Why did you wipe it on me?!" Petra yelled, jumping up and down as if it would make my saliva go away.

I laughed and said,"As long as it's not a big party. I agree. But if it's huge, you won't see the birthday girl at her birthday party." With that, I stood up and left, hearing Isabel and Petra whispering in the back as I left,"What's up with them?" I thought to myself quietly.

As I turned back to face forward, I pumped into someone,"A-ah, sorry." I said looking up, only to see Samuel,"Oh hey." I smiled. He smiled back and motioned me to follow him, and which I did,"So where are we going?" I asked softly.

He chuckled and said,"Outside. It feels nice, the cool breeze and the sweet air. You should experience this too." I smiled and walked with him outside, but for some reason, when we made it out there, I couldn't help but feel as if someone was watching me. I shook off the feeling, dismissing it as a chill from the cool breeze.

"Mt birthday's coming up." I sighed. He chuckled and said,"That's usually a thing someone would be happy about. Why are you sighing?" I shrugged and said,"Isabel and Petra are making a big deal about it, and well...we never really celebrated birthdays in my old house when I was young, so it really doesn't matter."

"That's nonsense. This day is supposed to commemorate the day your mother brought you into the world, and I'm actually quite happy she did." He smiled. I shoved his shoulder playfully and said,"Shut up. You don't mean that."

He sighed and said,"Yeah, I do. But, even so, having you just be by my side, makes me happy. You don't know how much people adore you, do you?"

I raised a brow and he chuckled,"All of those people who read about you in the paper, think of you as a savior and or hero. People who think of you because of being top of your class, see you as a warrior/ soldier. People look up to you. They see hope in you. Anyone would kill for that kind of respect and honor!"

I smiled and said,"Well, I did kill for it." It got quiet as I realized what I had just said,"I-I'm sorry...I-I..."

Samuel laughed, holding his side as he leaned on me for balance,"Shut up! I-I wasn't thinking!!" I yelled embarrassed,"You, You are some girl!" He laughed loudly. I scowled and pushed him off the bench we were sitting on. He fell and continued to laugh,"Have fun down there." I pouted. His laughter quieted as he said,"I will. Hello Mr.Dirt. Wanna be friends?"
