I Thought You Were Dead!

CHAPTER 11

YOUR POV

  I was woken by Lola and Lucy giggling, I opened my eyes to see them staring down at us, Levi holding me in his arms. I blushed and they giggled a little more," Shush, don't wake Levi. I don't think he's a morning person." I said slipping out from the covers. They helped me out and brought me to my own room," [name], may we dress you in this?" They asked holding a blue dress that contoured my body. It would sway out to the floor at my calves, I nodded in excitement to put it on.

  Once I was fully clothed they brought me down to the kitchen to be fed. I was given oatmeal and bacon, one of my favorites. I loved to eat out in the garden, just like I did when I lived with Mary, she would eat with me and talk with me all morning. We would even sit there until the afternoon chatting about lessons and soon to be, mainly she would ask about marriage. Wondering who I would marry and where I would go when I was, I told her that she would go with me anywhere if that was her wish, I didn't want her to stay with those bastards called my mother and father.

 But that day never came for her, for she died saving me. I don't know where her body was buried if it was even recovered from the rubble of the castle. I don't even know if the men who tried to kill us were captured and that still scares me to this day, wondering if they're alive or not.

  I was sitting in the garden when the sound of the metal gate being opened caught my attention, I turned around and saw Levi smiling," Oh, hey Levi." I said with a shy smile. He walked up to me and sat down with a plate in hand," Good morning [name], why didn't you wake me up?" Levi asked grabbing his fork. I looked down and said," Because I saw you get up last night and do paper work. I didn't want to wake you, I wanted you to get some sleep.".

Levi sighed and stood up walking over to my side of the table, he grabbed my chin and lifted it up so I could face him," We're eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner together from now on. As my beloved you will wake me in the morning and greet me with a kiss as well.". My face flushed and he leaned in close, his nose grazed my cheek and I felt something wet brush against my lip. He leaned back into his seat smirking," You had a little bit on your face.".

  I placed my index finger on that spot and said," L-levi! Y-you could of just told me, t-thats what napkins a-are for.". He chuckled and said," But that was alot better than a napkin, yes?". I looked down ashamed because it was true. We finished breakfast talking about plans of a trip, Levi wants to take me to meet his comrades but I think it would be a little risky.

I decided to play Reluctant Heros for Levi again, I sat down at the piano and he sat down next to me, his arm wrapped around my waist in comfort. I would always cry while playing this song, but this time I didn't. Just having Levi there with me made me feel secure and safe from harm, making me forget all I've been through in the past year.

  " Master Levi, there is a guest here to see Madame [name]." Sebastian, our butler, said with a bow. Levi looked in the direction as I continued to play," I know that song anywhere. How did you come to play it so well, [name].". My head whipped around to the familiar voice, seeing a women in a black dress. Her hair was pulled back leaving only her bangs. She was fairly tall and had only a couple of wrinkles.

I stood up quickly, Levi looking confused at my action," H-how?" I asked my eyes filling to the brim with tears. She smiled and said," I dont know, I managed to make it out alive. I searched for a long time looking for you, trying to make sure my [name] made it out alive as well.". I ran to her and hugged her tightly," Oh Mary!!!!" I cried.

  Mary wrapped her arms around me and pulled me into her arms securely," I've missed you [name], my little girl." She said stroking my hair. I bunched her dress up in fist fulls screaming," I thought you were dead!!! I thought you left me!!! I thought I was all alone Mary!!! I thought...I thought I had lst the will to live.". I felt tear drops land on my neck and I noticed she was crying," I'm so sorry [name]. I should of kept you safe, I should have stayed by your side, but I failed.  I'm not fit to hold a place in your heart." She said loosening her hold on me.

   I quickly grabbed her hands and wrapped them around me again," Please...please don't leave me again. Mary, please stay." I cried. I heard footsteps come closer to me and Mary and I looked back to see Levi with a confused expression on his face," Oh, hi. I'm Mary, [name]'s old maid your highness." Mary said bowing. I wiped away her tears and said," This is Levi.". Levi grabbed my hand and said," And [name] is my beloved, Mary there is no need to bow in my presence. In my opinion your part of the family as seeing you were practically [name]'s mother.".

Mary smiled and said," I'm glad [name] had someone like you to keep her safe all this time.". Levi walked over to Sebastian," Please have a room cleaned and polished for Mrs.Mary here. Please treat her with the up most respect.". Sebastian nodded at his order and took Mary's bags with him.

 " You will be staying as a guest here, for as long as requested or needed." Levi said smiling. Mary looked shocked and said," Thank you, thank you very much.". I gave her a hug still somewhat crying," Oh come now dear, its fine. I'm ok, you should be happy, not ruining your pretty face with such tears." Mary said wiping them away.

 " I know, I know. I'm just so happy your alive Mary, I thought I lost you for good. I thought the only mother I really had was gone for good, and never to return. I thought that I would have to be alone the day before my wedding!" I cried burying my face in her chest.

" Whats with all the crying down here?" Erwin asked coming down the stairs. I looked up and smiled," Sorry Erwin.". Levi looked away from Erwin and down at the floor," Mary, [name]'s old maid is alive." Levi said still not facing Erwin. Erwin walked up to Mary and said," Well its nice to finally meet you. [name] was all alone for some time, you should of seen her the night we got her, covered in ash, a crying mess, not wanting to talk, skidish.".

  Mary looked back at me and hugged me tightly," I'm sorry I wasn't there for you.". Erwin was shocked at Mary's words and asked," Did I miss something?". I giggled and said," Mary took care of me, as a daughter. I treated her as a mother not a maid, no one disrespected her and mother and father never fired her because I told them not to. That was the only wish I was granted in that prison, I was forbidden to leave the castle walls, forbidden to read about or learn about the titans and forbidden from seeing my brother.".

 Mary rubbed my shoulder because I was crying from memories," [name], I never knew how terrible your life was there." Levi said looking up from the floor. I smiled weakly and said," I don't want to give you a pity story, just telling you my life. And it wasn't all that bad, Mary kept me company, she taught me how to play the piano, taught me about the outside world, what other castles were like, how many sons and daughters thee other king and queens had and most of all if my brother was still alive, he would send a letter to tell us f he was alive or not but I would never be told if he was. Mary told me, I would go into depression if I didn't know.".

  Levi grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly," Levi its ok. I'm fine now, I have you and Mary.". Erwin looked away and pouted, I giggled and ran up to him hugging him," And you. Don't be such a baby, I cant forget the one other person who helped me.". He laughed and said," I'm not a baby.". He hugged back and I moved away back to Levi. I gave him a hug and whispered," I especially you, I will never forget you, and I will never leave you.". He kissed my cheek and hugged me back.
