The Decision

CHAPTER 13

YOUR POV

Everything was destroyed, homes crushed, buildings...crumbled, lives ruined and over runned by those humanoid creatures called the titans. But something was up, there weren't any titans in the city, its like they just left. There wasn't a single titan in sight,"W-where are they?" I asked carefully. The man lowered me down, just as puzzled as I was,"I-I don't know. It's strange." He whispered.

Just then, several men from the Survey Corps flew onto the wall,"Samuel!" They yelled. I looked over to him then the others,"Samuel." I whispered to myself. He ran in their direction sighing in relief,"Oh my god! I thought you guys died on me!" They laughed and said,"No! Not to those bastards! Speaking of the things, where are they?"

He shrugged and said,"I was going to ask you the same thing." They all looked over to me and gasped,"Dude?! Is that the Queen?! What is she doing here?!" Samuel walked over to me and moved me in front of him, they all saluted quickly,"There's no need for that here. I am no Queen without the King...I-I'm just a girl." I scowled.

"But you're highness, we are meant to serve you for you are royalty." One spoke. I waved my hand dismissing his comment,"That is enough, the king is dead and the castle is destroyed. There is no where for me to stay. This is an order for you all to follow." They all nodded, showing their hearts,"I will no longer be recognized as the Queen. I will change my appearance and act like a civilian. To you, the Queen is dead, never left the castle and died with it. That is my order, now follow it." I demanded.

They all looked confused and against it,"But Queen! Without you to keep the peace and order, the civilians will get out of control!" I nodded and said,"That's where the other kingdom in the inner walls will come in. You will tell them that both the King and Queen is dead, and that the land belongs to them now." They didnt seem to like the idea but saluted and agreed to my terms anyway.

I looked over to Samuel and said,"Make me look like a civillian and find me a place to stay where there is life." He saluted and said goodbye to his friends. With that we left to go to the other wall, where people were fleeing to and others lived. It took us a day to get there. Many people were scrambling around, several kids crying and holding onto their mothers for comfort,"Its madness." I choked out.

Samuel placed his hands over my eyes, preventing me from seeing the horrible truth that is our life,"I think that's enough destruction for today." He whispered. As we made our way through the screams and cries of help, I bumped into a young boy around my age,"Oh! U-uh excuse me." I whispered. He was silent, his body limp as he moved aside,"No, excuse me." He groaned. I looked at him horrified,"Samuel." I gasped.

He quickly pulled me away from him and said,"We cant help him. Cant you see there are several like him that we cannot help. We need to find you a place to stay, come, if we don't hurry then there wont be any places left." I nodded sadly, running with him down the gravel road, people pushing past others and kids falling to their knees as they were trampled. How could society come to this?

As we got passed the crowds, Samuel took a short cut down a dark alley,"Where are we going?!" I yelled. He looked back with a scared expression,"The only safest place I can think of." He turned to look at a stairwell that led down into the Earth,"But!" I gasped. He turned back and said,"I have my orders to keep you alive! Queen or not, I must follow them! Hurry!" I grabbed his hand and followed him down the alley, two guards stopping us at the steps.

"Halt!" They commanded. Samuel ceased movement only to push me in front of him,"The Queen has no other choice but to go down there. Once the commotion has died down we will come back up. The King gave me this order." They scowled and asked,"How can we be certain she is the Queen?" I walked forward and slapped the cursed boy,"How dare you?! Do you not know of what I have been through. I had to watch the King die becuase you all failed to warn us about the Titans!" I screamed.
