A/N: Some of the names will be put in parenthesis so you know who im talking about, but y/n and the others will not know eachothers names. You will understand in the beginning of the story+ any characters that are introduced later on. Remember YOU are the main character.
The morning sun casted a soft light over the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing School as the bus pulled away from the city. Inside, a mix of new students settled into their seats, the gentle hum of the engine was the only noise to be heard on the quiet bus ride
Kiyotaka Ayanokoji sat somewhat near the back, his gaze fixed out the window. The cityscape blurred into a series of unremarkable shapes as he remained lost in thought. The world outside seemed almost distant. He had a very calm demeanor that masked the quiet determination inside him, his mind was preparing for the new challenges awaiting him at this school.
On a different part of the bus, we have y/n, who sat by the window, her eyes were more focused on the changing scenery. Unlike the other students, she did not feel the need to engage in conversation with the others. She sat there observing the nice scenery, it felt nice having a fresh breath of air. The faces around her were a mix of excitement and apprehension, but she chose to keep her own emotions in check, analyzing the scene with a keen, detached interest. It was so different from being in the white room where she was raised at for majority of her life
As the bus journey continued, a small commotion erupted near the front. An elderly lady stood hesitantly, while a short, lively girl with a bright smile, Kushida, moved through the aisle, her voice breaking the silence and whispers of everyone.
"Excuse me, would anyone like to give up their seat for this poor old lady?" Kushida's voice was both cheerful and persistent. The other students shifted uncomfortably, some avoiding eye contact, while others fidgeted in their seats.
Kushida approached Ayanokōji, who glanced up briefly but made no move to offer his seat. His attention quickly returned to the window, ignoring the growing debate.
Kushida then turned to Koenji, who was lounging comfortably and smiling in his seat. "Would you mind giving up your seat sir?" she asked, her tone firm, but polite.
Koenji's eyes narrowed as he sat up, clearly annoyed. "Why should I?" he replied in an annoyed tone. "I don't see why I should be the one to move." He sounded quite condescending
The argument escalated as Kushida tried to reason with him, while the other students watched with a mix of interest and discomfort. Y/N observed the situation quietly, weighing her options.
Maybe I should give up my seat. Not only might it make a good impression on the class, but that short girl (Kushida) will probably be more inclined to trust me and remember who I am afterward. Y/N raised her hand, now drawing the attention to herself and off Koenji.
"I will stand. The lady can have my seat," I said calmly.
"Thank you so much, ma'am!" Kushida said joyfully, her smile widened as Y/N moved to the front of the bus, offering her seat to the elderly lady. Ayanokoji watched her as she walked past, his curiosity piqued by her selfless gesture.
The bus eventually reached its destination. Ayanokoji stepped off, taking in the imposing structure of the school gate. This was his new environment, a stark contrast to the sterile confines of the White Room.
As he stood at the top of the steps, a girl with long black hair-Horikita-called out to him, her voice sharp. "I noticed you staring at me on the bus earlier. Why did you do that?"
Ayanokoji was momentarily caught off guard. "Well, uhh... I was just curious because you didn't want to give up your seat either. I wondered if you were similar to me and would just rather stay out of it, I guess."
Horikita's responded annoyed. "I stayed silent as a matter of principle." Her tone made Ayanokoji wince internally; it felt a bit forced and condescending. She turned on her heel and walked away from him, leaving Ayanokoji a bit confused.
Y/N observed the exchange from a distance, finding the confrontation somewhat strange. She approached Ayanokoji with curiosity evident in her voice. "That girl seems kind of strange."
Ayanokoji glanced at her. "Maybe a little bit..."
Y/N shrugged. "I don't think it was that deep."
As they walked towards the assembly hall, Y/N fell into step beside Ayanokoji. "Do you want to walk together?" she asked, her tone stayed casual.
Ayanokoji hesitated, but then nodded. "Sure I guess."
The assembly was held in a large room where the class president gave a speech about the school's principles and expectations. Ayanokoji observed Horikita, noticing the subtle signs of her being nervous and self conscious of herself. Her fingers fidgeted with the hem of her skirt, a small detail that sparked his curiosity about her background, maybe they had some sort of connection? Ayanokoji thought to himself
After the assembly, the students were directed to their classrooms. Y/N, Ayanokoji, and Horikita all found themselves assigned to Class 1-D. The classroom was filled with chatter as students talked amongst themselves
Ayanokoji chose a seat near the back, his gaze sweeping over the room with a mixture of interest and detachment. Y/N was placed in a seat by the window to the left of Ayanokoji while Horikitas desk was to the right of Ayanokoji.
The first day of school had begun, setting the stage for the intricate dynamics and hidden connections that would unfold as they embarked on this new chapter of their lives.
