3rd person pov:
The early morning sun peeked over the horizon as y/n made her way to a small bakery that was nestled in the quiet corny of the school. It was Valentines Day, a day that she never gave much thought into in the past. However with Kiyotaka Ayanokoji in her life now, things have changed significantly, that's for sure.
Y/n browsed a display of pastries and chocolates, her mind was drifting back to her days in the White Room. After all the time she has spent with Ayanokoji along with the unexpected appearance of his Father and her own Father too, she begun to slowly piece things together. The possibility that Ayanokoji could of been her opponent back in that cold environment, and the appearance of both their parents appearing made it very possible.
She remembered her number being labelled as 0038 in the White Room against another number, 0045, in a game of cards. She decided to put this theory to the test, if he did not catch it then oh well. If he was part of the White Room, then it would be good to talk about the experience together. She thought carefully as she looked at the truffles.
She decided to buy three different types of truffles to symbolize the 3 and then 8 of each type to symbolize 8. Buying 3 different types perfectly matches up because if Ayanokoji views it correctly, he will see it as 3 sets of 10. Then the 8 being just single digits. If he did not notice at all the gesture would go unnoticed and harmless in its ambiguity.
As she strolled around campus before class, the crisp air helped clear her mind. By the time she entered the classroom, most of the students were already chatting up a storm. More specifically a group of boys gathered around Ayanokoji as they teased eachother about any chocolates they might receive from girls.
Y/n took a seat at her desk quietly, occasionally glancing at the scene. When Hirata walked in, he was carrying an enormous bag that was filled with chocolates from various women. The other boys were clearly envious of him.
Despite Hirata's popularity, y/n did not understand what made him standout so much. He was a very well-rounded guy, kind and approachable, butt was not extraordinary in the way Ayanokoji was.
When I glanced at Sudo, he made his presence known at Horikita's desk.
"Horikita, do you think you can help me with some studying? After school today" he asked, in a hopeful tone, but slightly awkward.
"No." Horikita replied flatly without even looking up from her book to meet his gaze.
Y/n almost laughed at her bluntness, but then Horikita continued, "We can after clubs conclude. That would be plenty of time for us."
The class passed by uneventfully, when the bell rang Y/n and Ayanokoji subtly drifted together. They agreed to maintain the illusion of being acquaintances instead of close friends, to avoid any unnecessary attention..

They agreed to meet up later in the day at a building that was quite a walk. Ayanokoji informed y/n that he asked Karuizawa about the number that recently called saying both their full names. She said she did not have the contact number in her phone, that left them more questions than answers.
Y/n handed Ayanokoji a neatly wrapped black box that was filled with the truffles she got him.
Ayanokoji glanced at the box, his expression was unreadable. "I will open it later, We have been here long enough and do not want to be seen."
She noted feeling a pang of annoyance that he did not give her anything in return. But there was no time to dwell on it. They talked a little longer, but then y/n felt an unknown presence behind her.
"Hashimoto from Class A," Ayanokoji said, his voice low but calm
Y/n turned slightly, catching sight of this man.
"A secret meeting in a place like this? You really are more than what meets the eye Ayanokoji," Hashimoto said as he closed the distance between the two.
"It is not much of a secret if someone like you found out," Y/n replied evenly.
"No need to hide it, its Valentine's Day, after all," Hashimoto said, with a wide grin.
"We were not meeting for Valentines Day," Ayanokoji retorted, with a stern voice. He concocted a believable excuse. "Y/n said one of her friends was too shy to give me any chocolate and wanted to do it in private, so there would not be any misunderstandings."
Hashimoto raised a brow, he was very skeptical. "Sure but none of her friends eem like the romantic type. Horikita? Hasebe? The list goes on."
Y/n crossed her arms with feigning confusion. "Is there an issue with such a simple arrangement?"
Hashimoto's smirk was turning to something more mischievous. "Oh it is nothing really, just thought you both might have a special connection that is all. Guess I was wrong.""
Y/n patience was starting to wear thin with this guy. "Please mind your own business before you meddle in my affairs, it is none of your concern."
Before she could step away, Hashimoto moved closer to her, pinning her lightly against the wall. His eyes were locked onto hers, but she continued to remain unfazed
"I have had my eye on you for a while," he said smoothly. "Ever since you blocked Ryuen's attack on Sakayanagi. You reacted even faster than me, it was impressive. So how about it y/n, would you go out with me?"
