Ayanokoji's Pov:

Y/n and I kept a close watch on the upperclassmen, we were careful not to draw any unnecessary attention to ourselves. We we're communicating in brief, quiet conversations, that were disguised as casual encounters like passing through the hallway or coincidentally meeting in the library to talk about books. We had passing comments here and there, shared glances, it was nothing that would arouse suspicion...or atleast it shouldn't

However one afternoon when we were walking through the campus together, I couldn't help but notice how natural our partnership felt...almost too natural. Y/n was sharp witted, observant, and quick to adapt. It was traits I found myself appreciating more than I would ever admit to her though. It felt kind of odd...this sense of ease around her. It made me wonder if perhaps I had underestimated the her abilities or was it my own interest in her?

We were passing by the fountain and suddenly Y/n paused, her eyes were lingering on the water's surface. "Do you think they'll make their move soon?" she asked.

"They're waiting for the right moment," I replied calmy. "But so are we."

Even though she nodded I could see some of the tension in her posture. This wasn't just about stopping the upperclassmen anymore. I could sense that she was starting to care about what could happen, about the people who could get caught in the crossfire. I noticed she seemed to care more about people than she led on, could this be a weakness or a strength? Maybe I could use this against her later on.

"Are you worried?" I asked, making my voice sound softer than usual.

Y/N glanced at me, surprised by the question. "A little," she admitted. "But it's more than that. I just... I want to make sure we're doing the right thing."

It was rare to find someone who could be both pragmatic and empathetic, but y/n seemed to balance those qualities well.

"We are," I said, my tone firm. "But it's not going to be easy."

Y/n's pov::

As the days started turning into weeks, I found myself growing more comfortable with Ayanokoji. Maybe this will be the start of a solid friendship? We spent more time together, oftenly making it look like small normal conversations here and there. Even as we relied on each other more, there was like a quiet intensity in our interactions. It was something I could not really explain, but it was like we were both keeping our true thoughts hidden about the situation.

One evening, as we sat in the library, I found myself watching Ayanokoji more closely than usuaal. He was focused on his book, his expression always neutral, but there was something about the way he carried himself that intrigued me about him. He was always so composed, so controlled, yet I felt like there was more beneath his surface. He wasn't like anyone else I had ever met, even in the white room. How did someone like this not end up in the white room? These unqieu traits about him is what fascinated me.

"Do you ever get tired of it?" I asked suddenly, my voice barely above a whisper.

Ayanokoji looked up, his gaze meeting mine. He looked at me a bit confused. "Tired of what exactly?"

"Of always being in control. Of never letting anyone in," I clarified, my eyes searching his for any sign of emotion. I wanted to understand him, to see if there was a part of him that wasn't always thinking of the next move, that always "I am one step ahead." type of look.

He didnt respond for a moment. It was like he was considering my question carefully, weighing in the results of his answer.

"It's not about control," he said quietly. "It's about survival. In a place like this, letting your guard down can be dangerous."
