"On my way! I'm so happy." May sighed.
"Me too!" David says.
"Aaahhhhh!" May says.
"Aaaaaahh!" David copies her playfully.
"Ok. A cop is coming up behind be. Gotta go. I'll be thee in like 5 minutes. See you then." May says, distracted.
"Okay. 5 minutes." David hangs up the phone. In 5 minutes, a wonderful woman is going to walk through that door. David runs his hands through his hair, feeling his jacket pocket for a present he is going to give May. David walks back and forth on his heels and toes, hands in his jean pockets. The 5 minutes seem like eternity. Knock knock. She's here.
"Come in!" David yells, 10 feet away from the door. Boom. She dropped her bags on the wood floor. David opens his arms and braces himself for impact. May jumps into his arms. Her arms around his neck. His hands around her waist. When she makes contact with the ground again, she puts her arms inside David's jacket. Around his waist. He puts his hands on her shoulders.
"Well hello there." He lifts her chin and he bends over slightly to kiss her gently. She sighs and hugs him again. He picks her up. They don't move. They will definitely bump into something if they move. He puts her down.
"It's so good to see you. It feels good to know where I'm supposed to be. Right here, with you." May puts her hand on his cheek.
"This is home now." David says, holding both of her hands.
"Eeeee! I'm excited!" May jumps up and down.
"Hahaha! Who isn't?!?" David holds her hands tighter and starts to dance with her. 50's style. They both laugh. The dancing slows and David poses a question.
"Can I ask you something? It crazy, but worth a shot." David's voice was strong and steady.
"Sure you can." May was smiling. David slowly gets down on one knee. May exhales shakily.
"May Loydd, I don't know what I would do without you. You.. Have taught me how to look at things differently even though I can't even see them. You taught me how to love someone like I do with you. I love you too much to not ask, will you marry me?" David pulls out the 'present' from his jacket pocket. A beautiful diamond ring. She takes his hand and answers.
"Hey... You know, why not?" She laughs while tears stream down her face. She helps him up quickly and kisses him. His hands go on her waist and her hands go on the wall behind David. They do this for several seconds. May pulls away while David's head is still on the wall. She sniffs. "I should.. Go unpack my bags." She turns her head and David pulls her in closer.
"We can do that later." He kisses her again. She smiles and goes along with it.
"Give me your hand." She leads him to her bag and she picks it up with one hand and holds David's in the other.
"W-what are you doing?" David try's to pull her in again but she refused.
"I'm unpacking. So it's official. You can come with me too." She puts his hand on her waist and walks to the guest room. She unpacks her stuff and she gets special little kisses now and then. That took about 30 minutes. She puts her hand on the hand that was on her waist and turns around, right into a hug. "Ok sir. It's official. I'm moved in." She whispers.
"Wonderful." David whispers back. May laughs and bites the inside of her lip. "This is a VERY weird question but, can I touch your face?... That sounded better in my head too." David says, never taking his hands off of her waist just leaning his head back.
"Well... Sure you can." She laughs. David gently takes his hand and cups May's cheek in it. He moves his fingers under her chin and to the other side of her face. He went down the bridge of her nose and sweep her cheek. "That was very gentle. I liked it." May's voice rises in tone.
"Now I know kinda what you look like." David says, holding her hand. Buzzzz! Someone is at the door. "It's the pizza guy."
"Oh I'll get it. Make your way into the kitchen." May shuffles off to the front door. David hears a mumbling of the pizza guy and her talking. "Mhm. Thank you." She pauses and he says something that David can't make out. "No. I have a fiancé. Thanks for the pizza though." The door shuts. "Here you go." She plops it on the table. "Why are you smiling?"
"I don't know. I just like that way 'fiancé' sounds." David hugs May from behind and grabs a piece of pizza.
