"Oh my gosh! This one! I love this one!" Laura exclaimed.
Laura had called over her stylist so Essence could try on the different dresses she had to offer.
Right now, Essence was wearing a form fitting red dress that flared out at her ankles and laid in a perfect round circle around her on the floor. It was long sleeve with lace and nude fabric to cover her private parts.
"I love it." Essence beamed.
Laura jumped for joy. "So who are you going with?!"
Essence's parents still didn't know about Darnell, nor had she told Darnell that she had been lying. Akia would mug her everyday at school. She was giving a warning that she will tell Darnell if she didn't.
"Um, nobody."
"What?! Baby it's your senior prom."
"I know ma, it's ok."
"No it's not. I'm gonna call Mrs. Theresa."
"For what?"
"To ask if her boy can take you."
"Who Aaron? No! Hell no!"
"Essence!"
"In sorry, but Aaron mom? Do you want me to be the laughing stock of the school?!"
"What's wrong with him?"
"He's looks horrible! He's short, little, his top lip bigger than his bottom lip, and he's illiterate."
"Now Essence that wasn't nice."
"But it's true!"
"Well I think he's a nice boy. He's going to the army."
"And?"
"And maybe yal will find something in common. You never know, that might be the love of your life."
Essence face palmed herself. I can't not believe this.
"Go with him, or don't go at all."
"You have got to be kidding me."
"I'm serious."
Essence was furious but wouldn't miss going to prom or spending time with Darnell.
"Fine."

"Agent Eli, I'm putting you on the bust case."
"I thought Agent Sly was over that sir."
"He is, but I think he's neglecting his job because of personal relations to these people. We need them off the street. I don't give a damn how good one can make a jump shot or how lyrical the other one is. I want them off the streets!"
Ross slammed his hand on the table. "I understand boss."
"Now are you going to be able to get the job done?"
"Yes sir."
"Good." Ross took a breath of relief and sat back in his chair. "Next week is their schools prom. We already have a date lined up for you. All you have to do is show up, and get them to talk."
"Will do."
"You know, this will look real good for you, considering the fact that you're the second youngest in this business. Are you trying to give Agent Sly a run for his money?"
"Not at all." Agent Eli smiled. "I'm just here to be the insider."
