"Ain't fate ironic?"

Emma jumped a bit as Regina appeared next to her.

"You know this girl. How?" Regina asked, seeing the newspaper Emma was looking at.

"She was my friend." Emma sighed, continuing to look at the name on the newspaper.

"Oh, the one you told me about..." Regina said, moving to sit on the desk to make Emma look at her. "Who you said you pushed away?" Regina asked, furrowing her brows.

"How is this possible? Of all the kids in the world, the one I end up friends with is the one my parents banished?" Emma asked with a confused scoff.

"Emma, there are powers beyond our understanding. And your parents messed with them."

"So, the only friend I ever made wasn't even my friend by choice." Emma sighed when Regina let out a small sigh.

"I know. It hurts, doesn't it? I've been there, too." Regina sighed, looking down at the ground.

"Yeah?" Emma looked up at her with furrowed brows.

"You think it was a coincidence that I just so happened to adopt the Savior's son? And that my daughter ended up falling in love with Gold's arch nemesis, who spent a lifetime to try and kill him?" Regina asked as Emma sighed again. "Our actions are our own, but fate pushes us. Maybe it's time to push back." Regina said with a half-smirk.

"How?"

"Well, I have to go to New York to rescue Robin from my insane sister, and you have to find this girl to redeem your parents. And show Gold he's wrong about you, that he can't change you." Regina said as Emma looked a little unsure. "What do you say we help each other?" She asked with a small smile.

"What, like a road trip?" Emma asked, furrowing her brow.

"Well, if that's what you wanna call it."

"I'm okay, Regina... I don't need a babysitter." Emma sighed with a slight scoff.

"But maybe I need you," Regina said, making Emma look at her. "You lived in New York. I've barely been outside of Storybrooke. How about it, Swan? How about we make today the day we both beat fate?" Regina asked with a small smirk.

Issac carefully got into the passenger seat of Gold's car. "You're letting them leave town?" He asked Gold.

"For our purposes, where the Savior turns dark is of little consequence. Leaving Dream without her biggest protectors." Gold said as Issac looked out the windshield. "I'm confident her latest mission will darken their hearts faster than we ever could." Gold sighed, looking in his side mirror to see Belle and Will walking down the street. "Now, if you'll excuse me, there's something I need to take care of." He added, getting out of the car.

Outside of City Hall.

"Be good, kid. I'll see you when I get back." Emma hugged Henry while everyone stood outside of the City Hall.

Henry nodded, walking over to his grandparents, who sighed a bit. Neal walked over to Emma as Dream watched them.

"Be careful, okay?" Neal asked as Emma nodded, giving him a small smile.

"As someone who started on the side of good and went dark..." Hook began to speak up, making everyone look at him. "...take my advice, vengeance is tempting, the darkness always is. Resist it." Hook said as Emma nodded.
