"Wanna talk about what happened back there?" Regina asked as the two of them got back into the car.
"Nope," Emma said, looking forward with no emotion but regret on her face.
"You nearly put that guy through a wall--"
"Look, I know what you're thinking, but what happened back there wasn't me turning dark. It was mourning a friend." Emma scoffed a bit, keeping her eyes on the road as Regina sighed to herself. "Can you understand that?" She asked her as Regina sighed again.
"Emma, you know you're not responsible for what happened to her." Regina tried to say when Emma finally glanced at her.
"You sure? You heard what that guy said. Her life wasn't pretty... it was dark. That darkness was meant for me. Or could have been, or--"
"Emma!" Regina yelled, jumping in her seat when she saw a big dog or wolf in the middle of the road.
Emma swerved the car, sighing as the car came to a stop. She sighed, looking at the door which started to run away.
"You okay?" Regina asked as they got out of the car.
"This has happened before. The wolf in the road, and an accident... the first time I tried to leave Storybrooke." Emma said as Regina saw the front tire. Flat.
"Stop overthinking. It's not fate; it's just a flat." Regina sighed, kicking the tire with her boot. "You need a new tire. Unless fate wants you to go to the Coffee Mug diner for help. I chalk it up to accidents will happen." Regina sighed, looking at the green road sign. "I'll get a tire. You get some coffee." Regina sighed, starting to walk to the Coffee Mug diner.
Storybrooke, Maine.
Neal sighed, looking at his coffee as he sat at the counter at Granny's. He did not know what to do. Henry was with Dream and Hook. Emma was out of town with Regina. And Belle was watching the Charmings' baby. Neal sighed, knowing that he did not have friends in Storybrooke. He had his family.
And right now, the only thing he was thinking about was what Dream said to him.
"Hey, Stranger."
Neal turned, looking to see Cass smiling as she folded up her coat.
"Oh, hey, Cass." Neal smiled a bit.
"This seat taken?" She asked, when Neal looked at her, then to the bartool next to him.
"Uh... No, no. All yours." Neal stammered a bit, when Cass smiled, placing her coat on the other empty barstool as she sat next to Neal.
"You okay? Or do you usually look sad when you drink coffee alone in the afternoons?" She asked with a slight chuckle.
"No... Um... Just thinking about a lot of stuff, and my son is with my sister... Well, his sister, too-- You know, it's not really the time to go over specifics." He sighed, moving to grab the coffee mug again and take a much-needed drink.
"Well, I can definitely relate to that. The thinking part." She chuckled a bit. "What's wrong? Something wrong with your son?" She asked, giving him a compassionate smile.
"Uh, no. Henry's fine... It's nothing."
"You obviously look like you need to talk to someone. Maybe I could just be a listener and nod when you need me to." She smiled a bit, when Neal sighed, looking at her, then down at his coffee.
"I appreciate it." Neal smiled a bit, looking back up at her.
"That's what friends do. And I still owe you a favor after you went out of your way to help me find my nephew." She smiled at him, placing her hand on his arm, when he sighed, looking down at the hand placement.
"You look tired." Dream sighed, walking to the door of the nursery to see Hook trying to pick up the mess from changing the twins.
"I'm fine, love. I've had many sleepless nights on the sea." Hook smiled, throwing the used diapers into the small trashcan.
"You worry me." Dream sighed, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I worry you?" He asked with a slight chuckle. "I've told you before. I'm a survivor, love... You don't need to worry about me." He smiled, walking over to wrap his arms around her waist.
"But I do. You're my husband." Dream sighed, moving her hand to his chin, rubbing her thumb softly over his scruffy beard. "And I'm sorry that I caused you to worry..." She sighed when he looked down at her.
"It's my job to worry about you. I'm your husband... till death do us part."
"Death will part us sooner than later." She sighed, moving her hand from his chin to rest on his chest.
"Not if I can help it... Or your mother." Hook sighed, rubbing his hand up and down her back.
"I know." Dream smiled when she looked down, but Hook used his hook to lift up her chin to look back at him.
"The Dark One will fail, again... Nothing will happen to you."
"I've seen it... I--I felt it." Dream sighed, watching as his face turned to confusion.
"What do you..."
"The nightmares... I've had them since the curse broke. The first time. The first night I had them was in the village in the cave after Mulan and Aurora kicked us down there." Dream sighed, when Hook sighed, watching how upset she seemed. "It's always the same. I'm surrounded by darkness... I heard my name being called but the voices were distorted. I feel... It feels cold. And... And I-- And then, I wake up." Dream sighed, when Hook sighed, watching her eyes well up with tears.
"What do you think it means?"
"It's a vision. Of what's to come. I just don't know what it is." Dream sighed as she tried to wipe away the tears rolling down her cheeks.
"I will protect you from whatever it is. I promise." He said, moving his hand to wipe a tear away. "How 'bout we not think about it now, and go check on the lad?" He asked, when Dream sighed, sniffling as she nodded.
"Yeah..." Dream sighed when she wrapped her arms around Hook. "But not just yet." She sighed, resting her head on his chest as he moved his arms around her, resting his chin on her head.
"Aye..." He said, softly, sighing to himself.
