"Fuck..." Tatiana groaned as she finally came to after hours of unconsciousness. Her head was pounding, as if her brain had been repeatedly bashed against her skull like a pinball. "What the fuck happened?" She asked herself as she sat up, sifting through her most recent memories until it all made sense. As she was about to leave, everything went black and the only thing that could explain it was that Kane had attacked her in a desperate effort to keep his secret.
Tatiana looked around, hoping to get her bearings and the more she looked at the room, the more she recognized it. It was room that had a metallic grey color, with nothing else within and on the front was a wall that appeared to be made of glass, but that was far from what it was.
Kane referred to the material as 'the hardest substance in the world', but had never provided it with a name. There was nothing that Tatiana could use to escape in this cell of hers, which made her believe that Kane had made the decision to not underestimate her. Right then, she heard a pair of doors separate and she stood up, well aware of who was on their way. Minutes later, Kane appeared from the corner of the transparent material and Tatiana walked towards it, giving him a hateful look.
"Looks like you're awake, that's good. Now we can talk about this drastic decision you're making, which you might regret later on." Kane said calmly, a calmness that only fanned the flames within Tatiana's heart. Their bond had been severed and there was no way that she was going to associate herself with Kane for as long as she lived. "Don't fucking talk to me like I was drunk, you killed Andrei! I'll kill you for it with my bare hands..." Tatiana exclaimed, hatred flowing out of her words. There was no love for the man that stood before her, it had been corrupted and turned into hatred. He would regret the mercy he had shown her.
"Goddammit, Tatiana, how many times am I supposed to tell you?! I did this for you, for us!" Kane exclaimed, growing frustrated with Tatiana's stubborn nature. "You didn't do this for me. It's all for you, all for your shattered ego. You couldn't handle the fact that the Motherland forgot about the prospect once set to run the army. You couldn't take the fact that they forgot the man whose nuke destroyed Florida and gave them the upper hand." Tatiana said and Kane stared at the floor, hands balled into fists.
"You're talking out of your ass. You know very well that collapsing this country would've meant great things for the both of us, I was trying to save you! They're watching us, Tatiana, they're just waiting for the clean up." He retorted, clearly not willing to consider anything a traitor like Tatiana had to say. It simply went into the one ear and left out of the other.
Tatiana shook her head, a small part of her pitying Kane for the delusion that he was lost in, that he held this importance to a superpower like Russia. She was also angry at herself, for buying what he had sold and believing that they were any relevant in the eyes of their Motherland. "You used him to get me vulnerable, knowing I would run into your arms and you would get me into the fold," Tatiana began as she got close enough to touch the glass-like material, which she did. The pity was evident in her eyes for a moment, but it was quickly replaced by her rage.
"But we both know the truth. The Motherland doesn't care about us, they
forgot about us and they don't give a shit what we do." She added, feeling tears well up in her eyes, but she tried her best not to cry. "And I wanted you to let go of that delusion, to have a life of your own, but now I see that you're even worse than the people from home, they would never kill one of their own." Tatiana finished and it seemed that the words had pushed Kane into a new realm of anger, evident by when he punched the transparent wall, causing Tatiana to jump back, startled.
