SHIVANI'S POV

"You know what's the most romantic thing for me?" Rudra asks. He's getting ready for a meeting, he says it's very important one. I am getting ready too, Maa is taking me with her because she wants a second opinion on the jewelry she has kept aside. She's buying it for chachi as it's her birthday in few days. I like how close they're, no drama at all, just pure friendship.

"Maybe hug? A kiss? Cuddles?" Rudra chuckles, buttoning up his shirt. "No, although all those are great." He turns to face me, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth, "it's when I catch you staring at me and you suddenly start looking somewhere else."

I feel my cheeks heating up, "now now, there's no need to be shy. Aap nhi dekhengi tho kon dekhega? I am your husband after all, you have rights to drool over me." Rudra teases me, his smile sending butterflies fluttering in my stomach, "I am not drooling." I mutter, unable to meet his gaze.

Translation: You don't need to be shy, if not you, who will stare at me?

I can't really help it, he is very good looking. I steal a glance back at him, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "You're such a sap," I murmur, trying to hide my own smile.
He walks over to me, Rudra steps closer to me, his gaze fixed on mine, "You may not be drooling, but your eyes definitely are."

He reaches out to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear, his fingers gently brushing against my skin, sending shivers down my spine.
He leans in and presses his lips on mine, Rudra kisses me softly, his lips gentle against mine. I melt into him, my body already responding to his touch. He deepens the kiss, his tongue seeking entrance, and I let him in, surrendering to the moment.
He wraps his arms around me, pulling me closer, his hands roaming over my back, pressing me against him. He pulls apart, "I am going to make love to you tonight,"
Rudra kisses me harder, his mouth demanding and insistent. His hands grip my hips, pulling me closer to him. I moan into the kiss, my body molding against his. He nibbles at my lip, his tongue coaxing mine into a passionate dance.

The kiss is all heat and need, both of us desperate for more of each other. His hands move up my back, his fingers digging into my skin as he claims my mouth with his own. I tangle my fingers into his hair, tugging slightly, eager to keep him close. He groans, "and then I am going to fuck you." He nibbles on my earlobe, "hard." I suck in a sharp breath.

He kisses my forehead and says, "I will have to go. Take care okay?" He looks so unaffected by what just happened and here I am in a trance, he bops my nose, "you'll take care of you for me?" I manage to nod and he chuckles.

"I love you Rudra." I say as he walks out of the room, he turns around, his smile gentle, giving me one last look.

I quickly get ready and run outside. Maa must be waiting for me. I find her near the car, talking to Madhav Uncle, she's so sweet, my mother never talked with him, she saw everyone other than her and my father as inferior.

"You're late Shivani." Madhav uncle says, I smile apologetically, "I am sure it was my son's fault." Maa says and they both laugh, while I am standing there blushing.

"Okay let's not tease her, look at her she's all red." Maa chuckles and we get into the car. I look out the window, trying to calm the butterflies in my stomach as we drive towards the jewelry showroom.

We finally arrive at the showroom, and as we enter, I'm struck by the dazzling array of jewelry on display. Maa calls the owner and he takes out all the set that she had asked him to set aside, I take a look at all of them, it's difficult to choose one as they're all very elegant. I study each set, each more beautiful than the last. Some are simple and delicate, while others are more extravagant, but they're all breathtaking.

Maa looks at each one carefully, her fingers tracing the intricate designs. She holds up a necklace with a large sapphire stone at its center, "What do you think of this one?" she asks me.

I take a closer look at the necklace, admiring the way the sapphire catches the light. "It's beautiful," I say, my eyes wide. "But they all look so exquisite." Maa laughs, clearly enjoying the process of choosing. "It's not easy, is it?" she says, putting the necklace back on the display. "They all have their own unique charm." We spend the next few minutes going over each set, but none of them quite catch Maa's eye.
I notice a set that's a little further back, slightly hidden behind some other pieces. It's a diamond set, with a necklace, earrings, and a bracelet all matching each other.
I point to it, "Have you seen this one?," I ask. Maa follows my gaze, and her eyes widen. "Oh my god, I hadn't even spotted that one! It's gorgeous!" she exclaims.

"See, I knew it, I am glad I brought you with me." She says, side hugging me and I smile gently. Maa requests the owner to pack the piece. She gives the card and when everything is done we walk out of the showroom.

"Do you want to do more shopping?" Maa questions, I shake my head in denial, I am not big on shopping. But I ask her if she wants to I can accompany her but we both decide that it looks like it's going to rain so it's better to go back. Maa and I exchange a glance and hurry toward the car, laughing at our haste. But as we approach, a loud bang cuts through the air. It takes a second for my mind to register the sound as a gunshot.

"Get down!" someone yells. The street erupts into chaos. People are screaming and running in all directions, desperate to find cover.
"Shivani, hurry!" Maa cries, pulling me toward the car. We dive behind it, trying to make ourselves as small as possible. My heart is pounding so loudly I can barely hear anything else.

Maa manages to get inside the car, but just as I'm about to follow, another gunshot rings out. I hear Madhav Uncle's voice shout my name, "Shivani!" before everything blurs. Time seems to slow down as I see him leap in front of me, taking the bullet meant for me. The sound of the shot echoes in my ears, and I watch in horror as he crumples to the ground, clutching his chest.
"No!" I scream, my world spinning. I fall to my knees beside him, tears streaming down my face. "Uncle, no!"

He looks up at me, his face pale but calm. "It's going to be okay, beta," he whispers, his voice weak. "You're going to live a good life. I don't regret anything... please, don't cry. Run... run away..."

"Shivani!" Maa's voice is frantic, calling for me, but I can't move. My hands are covered in his blood, and all I can see is the man who raised me, who was always there for me, lying helplessly on the ground.
Suddenly, rough hands grab my arms, yanking me away from Madhav Uncle. I scream and struggle, but the grip is too strong. "Let go of me!" I shout, but my captor is relentless, dragging me toward a van.

I fight with everything I have, my mind a whirlwind of fear and panic. "No! Leave me!" I cry out, but my voice is drowned out by the chaos around us. As I'm shoved into the van, I feel a sharp prick in my arm. My vision blurs, darkness creeping in from the edges. The last thing I see before I lose consciousness is the terrified face of Madhav Uncle, his lips moving in a silent prayer, and the image of Maa screaming for me. Then everything goes black.
