Chapter 30

My thoughts were consumed by Eli, even days after our reunion. Her presence lingered in my mind, never truly fading away. The sadness and weight I carried due to the tragic loss of my future son with Clint had been alleviated slightly by talking to Eli.

I was startled out of my thoughts by the sudden opening of my room door. Oli and Zyke entered, carrying an assortment of fruits and food. Oli immediately approached me, while Zyke placed the food on the table.

"Z, I heard that Eli visited you here. How was your meeting?" Oli asked, curiosity evident in her voice.

I smiled softly, recalling the encounter. "It's fine. I feel that she still loves me very much," I answered, my words laced with a mix of fondness and uncertainty.

Oli raised her eyebrows, studying my expression. "Is what you say true? I thought she had moved on from you," she asked, a hint of scepticism in her tone.

Zyke, now seated next to Oli, interjected, "It's not that easy to move on, Oli. Maybe she just said that because she knows Zia is tied to Clint, but the truth is that Eli hasn't lost her love for Z."

Oli shrugged, contemplating Zyke's words before turning her attention back to me. "I'll ask you, Zia, if Eli asks you to come back into her life now, what will you do?"

The question hung in the air, heavy and unanswered. My mind raced with possibilities, my heart torn between the love I still held for Eli and the complicated reality of my current situation. The silence stretched on until Oli spoke again, her words cutting through the tension.

"Zia, that person you left in the air used to work hard until she reached the life she has now. Do you know that Sarah Brielle likes Eli?" Oli's statement carried a weight of its own, a reminder of the consequences of my past decisions.

My brow furrowed, recognition dawning on me. "Sarah Brielle? Isn't she the heiress to the Brielle Company based in Zurich?" I asked, seeking confirmation.

Oli nodded, a smile playing on her lips. "You're right, and I know Sarah. She always gets what she wants."

Zyke, sensing the tension in the room, intervened. "You know Eli, too well, Oli. You also know that she only has one person in her heart until now."

I let out a sigh, my eyes filled with a mixture of resignation and determination. "The decision is up to Eli. If she likes Sarah too, there's nothing I can do about it. As long as she's happy with her, I'm happy for her as well. But right now, I am determined to divorce Clint when I get out of here."

Oli leant back, a glimmer of support in her eyes. "I know a good lawyer to handle your divorce papers," she offered.

"Eli will take care of that matter," Zyke interjected, her words carrying a weight of their own.

Both Oli and I turned to Zyke, our gazes questioning.

"Oli and I talked," Zyke explained, her voice steady and reassuring. "She will help you, Zia. She will help you get out of the hell you are in now."

The words hung in the air, a promise of hope amidst the chaos. My heart swelled with a mix of gratitude and apprehension. The road ahead was uncertain, but the knowledge that Eli was willing to stand by my side brought a sense of comfort I had been yearning for.

As the three of us sat in the room, the atmosphere shifted, a newfound determination settling over us. We knew that the path to freedom would be fraught with challenges, but together, we would face whatever lay ahead.

My mind wandered to the memories I shared with Eli, the love we once had, and the future we had dreamed of. The loss of my son had shattered my world, leaving me broken and adrift. But now, with Eli's support and the unwavering loyalty of my friends, I feel a glimmer of hope reigniting within me.
