The next few days passed in a blur of student council meetings, homework, and the occasional volleyball practice that Y/N would catch glimpses of from her usual spot near the gym. Despite her busy schedule, she couldn't stop thinking about Bokuto had said—about the secret admirer, and more specifically, about the absurd idea that it could be her.

She laughed it off every time the thought crossed her mind. No way it could be her. Right?

It wasn't until lunchtime one day that things took a surprising turn.

Y/N had just grabbed a quick sandwich from the cafeteria when she decided to eat outside. The fresh air was always a nice change of pace, and she had a good view of the volleyball team's outdoor practice area from her spot on a low stone wall.

She was halfway through her sandwich when a familiar pair of voices reached her ears. Turning her head, she saw Akaashi and Bokuto walking toward her, both carrying trays of food from the cafeteria.

"Mind if we join you?" Bokuto asked cheerily, already plopping down beside her before she could respond.

Akaashi gave her a small smile as he sat down on her other side. "We were looking for a quieter place to eat."

Y/N smiled back at Akaashi, feeling that familiar warmth in her chest. "Sure, it's a nice spot."

They ate in comfortable silence for a few moments, with only Bokuto's occasional humming breaking the quiet. Y/N felt herself relaxing, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere when Bokuto suddenly spoke up.

"You know," he said, his voice loud and clear, "Akaashi's secret admirer left another note today."

Y/N nearly choked on her sandwich, coughing as she tried to cover up her reaction. "W-What?" she stammered, turning to Bokuto. "Another one?"

"Yup!" Bokuto said proudly. "It was tucked right into his locker like always. I think the mystery is getting juicier."

Akaashi sighed but didn't seem nearly as interested in the conversation as Bokuto. "It's just a note. Nothing worth stressing over."

Y/N swallowed hard, trying to ignore the way her heart was racing. "What did the note say?"

Bokuto grinned mischievously. "Something like, 'I admire you from afar, but one day I'll tell you who I really am.'" He waggled his eyebrows. "Pretty romantic, huh?"

Y/N could feel her face turning red. She forced herself to laugh casually, though her mind was spinning. "Wow, that person is really dedicated, huh?"

Akaashi shrugged, clearly unfazed. "It's probably just someone being playful. I don't take it too seriously."

Bokuto, however, was having none of Akaashi's indifference. "Are you kidding? This is a love story waiting to happen! We just need to figure out who it is!" He suddenly turned his gaze toward Y/N with a conspiratorial grin. "Maybe you can help us, Y/N. You've got those smart detective skills, remember?"

Y/N laughed awkwardly, her nerves getting the best of her. "I don't know about that. I'm no detective."

"Well, you're observant," Bokuto pressed. "And you're friends with Akaashi now. Maybe you've noticed something we haven't?"

Y/N's eyes widened. "Friends?"

Akaashi, without missing a beat, simply nodded. "Yeah, we're friends."

Y/N blinked, caught off guard by the ease with which he said it. For some reason, the idea of being friends with Akaashi made her heart flutter. She liked the sound of it more than she expected.

"Friends," she repeated softly, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Yeah, I guess we are."

Bokuto, clearly enjoying the moment, leaned in closer to Y/N, his voice dropping to a playful whisper. "So, you wouldn't happen to be the secret admirer, would you?"

Y/N's eyes widened in shock, her cheeks flushing an even deeper shade of red. "Wh-What? No! Why would you even think that?"

Bokuto threw his head back in laughter. "I'm just teasing! But man, you should see your face right now!"

Y/N groaned, covering her face with her hands. "Bokuto! You're impossible."

Akaashi chuckled softly beside her. "Don't let him get to you. He's just having fun."

"Too much fun," Y/N muttered, still feeling flustered.

Just as she thought she could breathe again, Bokuto jumped up with a sudden burst of energy. "Oh! Speaking of fun, I have an idea! What if we wrote a fake admirer note and slipped it into Akaashi's locker?"

Y/N's eyes widened again. "Wait, what?"

Akaashi shot Bokuto a skeptical look. "That's not necessary."

Bokuto ignored Akaashi and continued, his grin growing wider. "Yeah! We could make it super mysterious, like, 'I've been watching you from the shadows.' Or something creepy like that!"

Y/N couldn't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of the idea. "Bokuto, that's a terrible plan."

"Which makes it perfect!" Bokuto said, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Come on, it'll be fun!"

Akaashi sighed, but there was a hint of amusement in his voice. "You're relentless, Bokuto-san."

Bokuto grinned, clearly proud of himself. "I know!"

Y/N was about to protest again when something occurred to her. She narrowed her eyes at Bokuto, suspicion growing. "Wait a minute... What if you're the one leaving the notes in Akaashi's locker? You're always so excited about them."

Bokuto gasped dramatically, placing a hand over his heart. "Me? No way! That's a plot twist I didn't see coming!"

Akaashi raised an eyebrow. "It would explain a lot."

Y/N and Akaashi shared a glance, both of them now looking at Bokuto with new suspicion.

Bokuto, however, just grinned even wider. "Well, if I was, you'd never catch me! I'm too clever for that!"

Y/N burst into laughter, shaking her head. "You're unbelievable, Bokuto."

Akaashi sighed, but a small smile played on his lips. "Let's just focus on eating lunch before Bokuto comes up with any more wild theories."

They all settled back into their meal, but Y/N couldn't shake the feeling that something about this whole secret admirer situation was stranger than it seemed. Maybe Bokuto wasn't the culprit, but the more she thought about it, the more she wondered if she was missing something obvious.

And then, just as they were finishing up lunch, Akaashi turned to her, his expression thoughtful. "By the way, Y/N... Do you write poetry?"

Y/N blinked, surprised by the sudden question. "Uh, no, not really. Why?"

Akaashi hesitated for a moment, then reached into his bag and pulled out a small folded note. "Because the latest note... had a style that felt familiar."

Y/N stared at the note in Akaashi's hand, her heart pounding.

Could it be...?

Bokuto leaned over, eyes wide with anticipation. "Is this the moment we uncover the secret admirer?"

Y/N swallowed hard, feeling a strange mix of excitement and panic. She had no idea how this was going to play out, but one thing was certain: the mystery was far from over.
