The days leading up to the school festival were filled with a mix of excitement and nervous energy. Y/N found herself preoccupied with the growing complexity of her feelings, and Akaashi, despite his attempts to maintain his usual composure, couldn't shake the concern he felt about Y/N's recent behavior.
As the festival approached, preparations were in full swing. The school was decorated with colorful banners and lights, and everyone was bustling with last-minute arrangements. Y/N was busy with student council duties, making sure everything was ready for the big day.
One afternoon, as Y/N was organizing some festival materials in the student council room, she received a text message from Akaashi:
The day dragged on, and Y/N found herself increasingly anxious about their meeting. When the final bell rang, she gathered her things and headed out to meet Akaashi.
At the cafe near school, Akaashi was already seated at a corner table. He looked up and gave Y/N a warm smile as she approached. "Hey, Y/N. I'm glad you could make it."
Y/N returned his smile, though she felt a flutter of nerves. "Hey, Akaashi. Thanks for inviting me."
They ordered their drinks and settled into conversation. The cafe was cozy, with soft music playing in the background, creating a relaxed atmosphere.
"So, how have you been?" Akaashi asked, looking genuinely interested. "You seemed a bit off the other day."
Y/N took a sip of her coffee, trying to steady her nerves. "Oh, it's nothing. I've just had a lot on my plate lately."
Akaashi nodded, his eyes softening with concern. "If there's anything you want to talk about, I'm here. I know things have been a bit weird with the notes and everything."
Y/N's heart skipped a beat. She knew this was her chance to address her feelings, but the words seemed stuck in her throat. Instead, she took another sip of her coffee and tried to steer the conversation back to safer topics. "Yeah, the notes have been a bit strange. But it's nice to have a break from all the festival chaos."
Akaashi smiled, clearly relieved that Y/N was opening up, even if only a little. "I agree. It's been hectic, but I think it's going to be a great festival."As they chatted about the festival and shared some light-hearted jokes, Y/N began to relax. The conversation flowed more naturally, and she found herself enjoying Akaashi's company.
Later, as they finished their coffee, Akaashi looked at Y/N with a thoughtful expression. "You know, I've been meaning to ask you... If you were the one receiving the notes, how would you feel?"
Y/N's heart skipped a beat. She wasn't expecting that question and wasn't sure how to answer. "I... I don't know. I guess it would depend on who they were from."
Akaashi leaned forward slightly, his gaze earnest. "If it were someone you cared about, would it make you happy or... confused?"
Y/N felt a pang of emotion. The question hit closer to home than she was ready to admit. "It would probably make me happy, but it could also be confusing if I wasn't sure about their intentions."
Akaashi nodded, clearly contemplating her answer. "That makes sense. Sometimes, feelings can be complicated, and it's not always easy to sort them out."
After their coffee, Akaashi walked Y/N home, the evening air cool and refreshing. The conversation between them was easy and comforting, though an underlying tension remained.
As they reached Y/N's house, Akaashi turned to her. "Thanks for meeting up today. I really enjoyed our talk."
Y/N smiled, feeling a mix of emotions. "Me too. It was nice to have a chance to catch up."
As Y/N headed inside, Akaashi watched her go, a thoughtful expression on his face. He had hoped their conversation would help clear the air, but he was still unsure about the underlying tension he sensed.
Later that evening, Akaashi met up with Bokuto at their usual spot—a small park nearby where they often hung out after practice.
Bokuto, ever observant, noticed Akaashi's thoughtful demeanor. "Hey, Akaashi, how did your talk with Y/N go?"
Akaashi sighed, leaning against the park bench. "It was good. We talked about the festival and the notes, but I couldn't quite get a read on how she's feeling." Bokuto's eyes widened with curiosity. "You think it's got anything to do with her feelings for you? I mean, I noticed she seemed a bit off when the notes came up."
Akaashi considered Bokuto's question. "It's possible. She might be feeling conflicted or confused about the situation."
Bokuto grinned, leaning in conspiratorially. "Well, if she does have feelings for you, it might be time to clear the air. You don't want things to stay awkward between you two."
Akaashi nodded in agreement. "You're right. I think I need to have a more direct conversation with her. It's important to understand what's really going on."
Bokuto patted Akaashi on the back. "Good call. And hey, don't worry too much. You've got this."
As Akaashi and Bokuto continued their conversation, Akaashi felt a sense of resolve. He knew he needed to address his feelings and Y/N's in a straightforward manner, and he was determined to do just that.
