As practice wrapped up, the gym was filled with the usual post-workout chatter. The volleyball players were winding down, stretching and discussing the day's practice. Y/N sat on the bleachers, her mood clearly off. The players, including Bokuto and Akaashi, were starting to notice the change in her usual demeanor. Some thought that she might not be in the mood because of her duty, since she was the vice-president of the student council afterall.
Suddenly, the group of popular girls from Y/N's class burst into the gym, their chatter and excitement drawing the attention of everyone present. "There you are, Akaashi!" one girl called out brightly. "We heard you got another note today. Is it true?"
Akaashi, who had been discussing strategy with Bokuto, looked up in surprise. "Yes, I did receive another note," he confirmed, though he made no move to reveal it to them.
The girls gathered around Akaashi, their curiosity evident. "Can you tell us what it says?" one of them asked eagerly.
Akaashi shook his head politely. "I'm afraid I can't share the contents of the note. I'd like to keep it private."
The girls' excitement dimmed slightly, but they quickly covered their disappointment with forced smiles. "Oh, that's okay," another girl said, attempting to sound nonchalant. "We were just curious."
After a few more moments of conversation, the girls turned and left the gym, their voices fading as they walked down the hallway.
The volleyball team watched the interaction with mixed reactions. Bokuto, who was particularly perceptive, nudged Akaashi and nodded towards Y/N.
"Hey, Akaashi, check out Y/N. She's been acting really off since those girls showed up."
Akaashi glanced over at Y/N and saw her sitting rigidly on the bleachers, her usually cheerful expression replaced by a frown. Concerned, he approached her.
"Y/N, you seem upset. Is everything alright?" Akaashi asked gently.
Y/N forced a smile, though it looked strained. "I'm fine, Akaashi. Just had a long day. I think I'll head home now."
Akaashi's confusion grew as he noticed her discomfort. "Are you sure? You don't have to leave if you're not feeling well."
Y/N shook her head, her frustration barely concealed. "No, it's really okay. I just need some time alone."
Without waiting for a response, Y/N stood up and walked towards the gym's exit. Akaashi watched her go, his concern evident. He turned back to the team, who were exchanging curious glances.
"What was that about?" Bokuto asked, his brow furrowed. "She seemed really down."
"I don't know," Akaashi replied, looking troubled. "But I hope she's alright."Several teammates shared looks of concern. One player, who had been observing from the sidelines, commented, "She's usually so cheerful. It's unusual for her to act like that."
The team continued their post-practice routine, but the mood was slightly subdued. The players couldn't help but feel a sense of unease about Y/N's sudden change in demeanor and her interaction with Akaashi.
As Y/N made her way home, her mind was swirling with thoughts about the girls' visit, her own feelings of jealousy, and the confusion she felt about Akaashi and especially the 'note'. The walk seemed longer than usual, and she struggled to understand why the situation had such a strong impact on her emotions.
When she finally reached her front door, she took a deep breath, trying to calm herself before stepping inside. The quiet of her room offered some respite, but the frustration and confusion lingered, leaving her to ponder her feelings and the complicated dynamics of her relationships.
Maybe I should not get too involve in finding whoever the 'secret admirer' is...she thought.
