After lunch, Akaashi and Y/N walked home together, the afternoon sun casting soft shadows on the pavement. Their conversations flowed easily, punctuated by the occasional laugh. They hadn't really talked much about the whole secret admirer situation, and for now, that seemed okay. It felt better to just enjoy the quiet moments of walking side by side, something they had been doing more frequently lately.
As they approached Y/N's street, Akaashi glanced at her. "You free later tonight? Bokuto-san wants to start a group chat to plan his 'detective work' for this whole secret admirer thing," he said with a sigh.
Y/N smiled, but something twisted in her stomach at the mention of the secret admirer. "Yeah, I'll be around. Should be fun."
She waved him off before heading inside, already anticipating Bokuto's endless stream of enthusiasm in the group chat. After a quick dinner, Y/N plopped onto her bed, grabbed her phone, and saw that the group chat was already blowing up with messages.

DETECTIVE SQUAD🕵🏻♂️
Bokuto
Alright, team! We're getting closer. I can feel it. We WILL find out who's sending those notes. Akaashi, any new ones today?Akaashi
I got another one, yeah. Same handwriting, nothing new, though.∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Y/N frowned slightly at her phone. She herself never received a note in her entire life, only notes about the list of things she needed to take care of for the student council, yet Akaashi kept getting them. Why was that?
She quickly pushed the thought aside, typing a response.

Y/N
Maybe, this person is playing it safe. Don't want to be caught just yet.Bokuto
Y/N, you're a genius. That's exactly it! But we'll catch this person! Akaashi, any clues in the note?∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Y/N noticed the way her heart did a weird little flip every time Akaashi responded about the notes. Something unsettled her, though she couldn't put her finger on it. Maybe it was the fact that someone was admiring Akaashi so openly, while she...hadn't really though about her feelings for him in that way before. Or maybe she was starting to? No. She pushed that thought away too. It was nothing.

Days went by like this—lunch with Akaashi, group chat banter with Bokuto, and the occasional joke about the secret admirer. But as each day passed, something began to gnaw at Y/N. Every time Akaashi casually mentioned getting another note, she felt a strange discomfort settle in her chest. It wasn't anger or sadness, but something far more complicated. A tiny, almost imperceptible knot of jealousy began to form, though she tried to ignore it.
Why am I feeling this way? she thought to herself as she walked through the school hallways one day. It's not like I have feelings for him... right?
But the more she tried to deny it, the stronger that uncomfortable feeling grew.
One afternoon, Y/N and Akaashi sat together in their usual spot outside under the tree. Akaashi pulled a small piece of paper out of his pocket and unfolded it. Y/N glanced over, trying not to seem too interested, but failing miserably.
