The day had arrived. The day written in the envelope given to Akaashi by the girl behind the school. Y/N couldn't shake the tension in the air. She had already convinced herself that she was too busy with her council duties to join him, though the truth was something else entirely. Deep down, Y/N knew that she simply didn't want to see the secret admirer confess her feelings to Akaashi. Because the more she thought about it, the more Y/N realized she had feelings for him herself. She hated to admit it, but the thought of Akaashi potentially being with someone else gnawed at her heart.
Y/N's POV:
She walked through the crowded halls, clipboard in hand, acting like she had important tasks to complete. But her thoughts were a mess, tangled up in anxiety and jealousy.
What if she's exactly his type? What if he says yes?
Y/N bit her lip, trying to focus on anything but the situation at hand.
She stopped, leaning against the wall for a moment as she let out a shaky breath.
It doesn't matter, she told herself, I shouldn't get involved. I didn't want to be a part of this in the first place. But why does it feel like this is my heart on the line?
She stopped on her track and sighed.
"Oh gosh. I really do like Akaashi afterall."
She sighed again and resumed her work, hoping that keeping busy would distract her from what was happening behind the school.

Meanwhile, Akaashi had made his way to the back of the school, where the girl had requested to meet him. He wasn't particularly nervous, but there was an odd feeling in the pit of his stomach. He appreciated the effort the secret admirer had put into the notes, but he already knew what his answer would be. It wasn't her fault; his heart simply belonged to someone else.
As he arrived at the secluded spot, the girl was already there. The same girl who gave him the note during the festival, and the one who gave him the envelope back then, waiting with a hopeful yet anxious expression on her face. He admitted that Bokuto's theory was right.
"Hi, Akaashi," she greeted him softly, her hands fidgeting nervously. "I'm glad you came."
Akaashi gave her a polite smile. "Hello. I read your note. I appreciate everything you've done, the letters... the thought behind it all."
The girl blushed slightly, looking down for a moment before meeting his gaze again. "I wanted to tell you in person. I've admired you for a while now, and I thought... maybe I'd give it a shot."
Akaashi nodded, appreciating her honesty. "I understand. It's not easy to put your feelings out there like that."
There was a brief pause before Akaashi sighed lightly, his voice softening. "But I'm afraid I can't return your feelings. There's someone else I care about."
The girl's face fell, though she nodded in understanding. "I see... I guess I was kind of expecting that. You're kind, Akaashi, but I know you're not someone who'd be swayed by notes alone."
Akaashi smiled gently, relieved that she understood. "I truly appreciate the effort and courage it took for you to tell me how you feel. But my heart belongs to someone else."
The girl gave him a small smile, though it was tinged with sadness. "I hope whoever she is, she realizes how lucky she is to have your attention."
Akaashi's gaze softened. "Thank you. And I hope you find someone who sees how amazing you are."
With a nod, the girl turned and walked away, leaving Akaashi standing alone for a moment, deep in thought.
Then, the case was closed. The 'secret admirer' was revealed.
