Y/N had just wrapped up her work in the council room, filling away the last of the paperwork before heading out. She stretched her arms above her head, feeling the satisfying crack of her joints, and sighed.

Finally, some peace.

Her mind drifted back to the volleyball club, where she knew the boys were practicing. She had started dropping by more often lately, partially to support them, but also because of the 'note'.

As she walked down the hallways toward the gym, the sound of laughter and chattering echoed ahead. She slowed her pace slightly when she heard a group of girls—girls she recognized easily. The popular crowd. They were lingering near the lockers, talking loudly enough that their voices carried through the hallway.

"You know Akaashi from the volleyball team, right?" one of them giggled. "He's so cute! And that calm, serious vibe? Ugh, total heartthrob."

Another girl chimed in, "I heard he's been getting secret love notes or something. Can you imagine? I wish I could be the one leaving them! He's totally my type."

Y/N felt her stomach twist uncomfortably as she listened.

Why am I even listening to this? she thought, trying to force herself to move on. But her feet stayed rooted to the spot.

"Oh, totally," another girl agreed. "I mean, who wouldn't want to date a guy like Akaashi? He's got that mysterious thing going on, and he's not like the other loud, obnoxious guys. He's... different."

Y/N clenched her fists at her sides, feeling a sudden surge of irritation. Different? she thought.

That's what I thought too. But hearing it from them—it felt so... wrong.

Trying to shake off the uncomfortable feeling, Y/N took a deep breath and continued down the hall, making her way to the gym. She greeted the team, the managers, and the coach with a friendly smile as she entered. The gym was alive with energy, and she found comfort in the familiar routine.

"Hey, Y/N!" Bokuto called out as she approached the bench where the team was gathered. "You just missed a crazy play! Akaashi, show her the replay!"

Akaashi, who was busy stretching, looked up and offered a small smile. "Hi, Y/N. How was your day?"

"Busy," Y/N replied, trying to sound casual. "But I'm glad I made it here. I've missed the excitement."

During the break, as the players and managers took a moment to catch their breath, Y/N found herself sitting with Akaashi and Bokuto. The conversation was light-hearted and fun, filled with Bokuto's energetic anecdotes and Akaashi's dry wit. Despite her best efforts, Y/N couldn't shake the thoughts from earlier.

"So, any new developments with the secret admirer?" Bokuto asked, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Akaashi sighed, pulling out the latest note from his bag. "Just the usual. No new clues, and it's still anonymous."

Y/N glanced at Akaashi, her heart skipping a beat. She was still reeling from the conversation she'd overheard and found it hard to focus on the conversation.

Bokuto leaned closer to Akaashi, peering at the note. "You know, if this keep this up, we might need to set up surveillance cameras or something!"

Y/N forced a laugh, trying to mask her discomfort. "That might be a bit extreme, Bokuto."

Akaashi raised an eyebrow. "I think I'd prefer to just wait and see if someone reveal themselves eventually."

As they continued chatting, Y/N's mind drifted back to the girls' conversation. She wondered if they were right—if Akaashi was getting more attention from others. The jealousy she had tried to ignore was creeping back up, and she felt a pang of irritation that she didn't fully understand.

Trying to push the feelings aside, she focused on the conversation, engaging with Bokuto's antics and Akaashi's insightful comments. But deep down, she couldn't shake the unsettling feeling that someone else might be inching closer to Akaashi.

As practice resumed, Y/N watched from the sidelines, her thoughts tangled and her emotions in disarray. The gym was full of energy and laughter, but for Y/N, the weight of her unspoken feelings was heavy.

She knew she had to sort through her emotions, but for now, all she could do was put on a brave face and continue to navigate the confusing maze of her heart.
