The festival had come and gone, and life at Fukurodani High had returned to its usual rhythm. Y/N, Akaashi and Bokuto found themselves back in their routine, with the excitement of the festival now a fond memory. They were sitting together for lunch, the buzz of the cafeteria filling the background. Despite the usual hustle and bustle, a silence had settled over their table.
Y/N, feeling the weight of the silence and her curiosity about the secret admirer, decided to break the quiet. She took a deep breath, hoping to address the lingering question in a way that wouldn't disrupt the mood.
"So, Akaashi," Y/N began, her voice slightly hesitant. "I was wondering about the envelope you received that other day. The one that was given by the girl behind the school?"
Akaashi looked up from his lunch, his expression a mix of curiosity and mild surprise. "Oh, that. I wasn't sure if you'd heard about it."
Y/N nodded, feeling a bit self-conscious. "I did. I saw the whole thing, actually. I was just walking around the school doing my 'vice-president' duties when I overheard you and the girl. I didn't mean to intrude."
Akaashi's eyes softened. "It's okay. You were just doing your job. Did you have any questions about it?"
Bokuto, who had been listening quietly, looked between Y/N and Akaashi. "Yeah, what's up with it? Do you plan to meet her at that place?"
Akaashi sighed, setting his chopsticks down. "Honestly, I'm not sure what to make of it. The notes, then the envelope have been somewhat vague."
Y/N nodded, her curiosity piqued. "I understand. It must be confusing. And I'm sorry again for overhearing. I didn't mean to eavesdrop."
Akaashi shook his head with a reassuring smile. "No need to apologize. It's perfectly fine. I appreciate your concern.
Bokuto, who had been quiet for a moment spoke up. "Hey, maybe the girl who you met behind the school, you know...the one who gave you the envelope is 'the secret admirer' of yours, Akaashi," he rambled. "She's going to confess to you or something at the place written in that envelope, maybe that's why she asked you to come and meet her again, so that you have some time to think about it."
Y/N was dead silence. Maybe for once, Bokuto's theory might be true. Right?
"I think that's enough, Bokuto-san," Akaashi blurted out, noticing a sudden change of behavior from Y/N.
"Ah, right!" Bokuto quickly responded, knowing he overstepped again.
As they finished their lunch, Akaashi seemed to ponder something for a moment before speaking. "Thanks for being open about it, Y/N. And if you ever need to talk or if there's anything else on your mind, feel free to let me know."
Y/N smiled, appreciating Akaashi's sincerity. "I will. Thanks, Akaashi."
With that, the trio wrapped up their lunch and went their separate ways for the rest of the school day. Y/N felt a bit lighter after their conversation, though feeling sligthly upset about the whole 'secret admirer' thing. As she went about her afternoon, she resolved to stay observant and open to any new developments, all while trying to balance her curiosity with her everyday responsibilities.
