The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple as Gavi and Pedri walked through the bustling streets of Barcelona. The weight of the recent defeat had lifted, replaced by a quiet camaraderie born from shared experience. They were on their way to a small, local restaurant, a favorite haunt of theirs, where the aroma of paella and laughter always welcomed them.

As they approached the restaurant, a group of girls, their laughter echoing through the evening air, caught Gavi's eye. One in particular, with bright, mischievous eyes and a smile that could light up a room, seemed to be drawn to him. She approached, her eyes sparkling with a playful challenge.

"Hey," she said, her voice a sweet melody. "You're Gavi, right? I've seen you play. You're amazing!"

Gavi blushed, surprised by her sudden appearance and even more surprised by her compliments. He mumbled a shy "thanks," his gaze flitting to Pedri, who stood a few steps behind, observing the interaction with a quiet intensity.

The girl, undeterred by Gavi's shyness, continued to chat, her enthusiasm infectious. She asked about his favorite players, his favorite moves, his favorite... well, everything. Gavi, caught in the whirlwind of her attention, found himself drawn to her energy, her genuine admiration.

Suddenly, she leaned in, her lips meeting Gavi's in a quick, unexpected kiss. The world seemed to stop, the noise of the street fading into a distant hum. Gavi stood frozen, his eyes wide with surprise, his heart pounding in his chest. He felt a rush of adrenaline, a strange mixture of excitement and confusion.

He glanced at Pedri, expecting a playful tease, a shared laugh. But Pedri wasn't laughing. His face was a mask of displeasure, his jaw clenched, his eyes narrowed.

"Hey," Pedri said, his voice sharp, his tone laced with a barely concealed anger. "Leave him alone."

The girl, taken aback by Pedri's sudden outburst, stepped back, her smile fading. "What?" she asked, her voice laced with confusion. "I was just being friendly."

Pedri's eyes, usually so bright and warm, were now cold and hard. "He's not interested," he said, his voice low and menacing. "And you should know better than to try anything like that."

The girl, sensing the shift in Pedri's demeanor, backed away, her eyes wide with surprise and a hint of fear. She mumbled an apology and quickly retreated to her friends, leaving Gavi and Pedri standing in the growing twilight, the air thick with tension.

Gavi, confused and a little hurt by Pedri's outburst, looked at his friend, his eyes searching for an explanation. "What was that about?" he asked, his voice low, his tone questioning.

Pedri, his anger simmering beneath the surface, turned away, his face unreadable. "Nothing," he muttered, his voice tight. "Let's just go."

He turned and walked towards the restaurant, leaving Gavi standing alone, the lingering taste of the girl's lipstick and the echo of Pedri's harsh words swirling in his head. He couldn't understand Pedri's reaction. It was just a kiss, a friendly gesture. But Pedri's jealousy, simmering beneath the surface, had been ignited, leaving Gavi confused and a little bit scared.
