The air inside Pedri's house was thick with tension, the silence broken only by the ticking of the grandfather clock in the hallway. Gavi sat on the edge of the sofa, his fingers drumming nervously against the worn leather. He had been avoiding Pedri all day, but eventually, the inevitable confrontation had arrived.

"What's wrong, Gavi?" Pedri asked, his voice laced with concern. He was sitting opposite Gavi, his gaze fixed on the floor, his fingers tracing the intricate pattern of the rug.

Gavi hesitated, his throat constricting. He didn't want to hurt Pedri, but he couldn't keep his feelings bottled up any longer. "I just... I don't understand," he said, his voice barely a whisper. "Why are you pushing me away? Why are you acting like I'm not your friend anymore?"

Pedri looked up, his eyes widening in surprise. "What are you talking about, Gavi? I'm not pushing you away. I'm just..." He trailed off, his voice fading into a murmur.

"Just what?" Gavi pressed, his frustration growing. "Just trying to hide something? Just trying to pretend everything is okay when it's not?"

Pedri flinched, his hand instinctively reaching for his wrist, as if to cover something. "It's not like that," he said, his voice strained. "I just... I don't want to burden you with my problems."

"But I'm your friend, Pedri!" Gavi exclaimed, his voice rising. "That's what friends are for. To be there for each other, to support each other, even when things are tough."

Pedri's eyes filled with tears, his shoulders slumping. "I know," he said, his voice cracking. "But I don't want to be a burden. I don't want to drag you down with me."

Gavi stood up, his anger boiling over. "You think I'm going to leave you just because you're going through a hard time?" he said, his voice shaking with emotion. "You think our friendship is so fragile that it can be broken by a few problems? That's not true, Pedri. You're my friend, and I'm not going anywhere."

Pedri looked up at Gavi, his eyes filled with confusion and hurt. He didn't understand why Gavi was so angry, why he was making such a big deal out of his problems.

"I just... I need some space," Pedri said, his voice barely audible.

Gavi stared at him for a moment, his heart heavy with disappointment. He knew Pedri was hurting, but he couldn't understand why he was pushing him away.

Without another word, Gavi turned and stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind him. He ran down the street, his anger fueling his steps, the cold autumn air stinging his face. He didn't know where he was going, he just needed to get away, to escape the suffocating weight of Pedri's pain.

His mind was racing, filled with a jumble of emotions: anger, frustration, hurt, and a deep sense of betrayal. He didn't realize he had reached the edge of the road until he felt the cold asphalt beneath his feet. He stopped, his chest heaving, his eyes fixed on the distant lights of the oncoming cars.

He didn't see the car until it was too late. The headlights were blinding, the horn blaring, and the screech of tires filled the air. He had no time to react, no time to move.

The impact was sudden and violent, throwing him through the air. He landed hard on the pavement, his body crumpling beneath the weight of the collision. The world spun around him, the lights blurring into a kaleidoscope of colors. He felt a sharp pain in his chest, a searing pain that spread through his limbs.

The last thing he saw was Pedri's face, filled with horror, before darkness swallowed him whole.
