The silence in the locker room was heavy, thick with unspoken emotions. Pedri sat on a bench, his head in his hands, the weight of his actions pressing down on him like a physical burden. The suspension hung over him like a dark cloud, a constant reminder of his impulsive act. He had let his jealousy cloud his judgment, and now he was facing the consequences.
The door slammed open, and Gavi entered, his face a mask of fury. He stood in the doorway, his gaze fixed on Pedri, his silence speaking volumes.
"Gavi," Pedri started, his voice a mere whisper. He wanted to explain, to apologize, to make things right, but the words seemed to get stuck in his throat.
Gavi stormed towards him, his steps heavy with anger. He stopped in front of Pedri, his eyes blazing with a mixture of hurt and rage.
"How could you do that, Pedri?" he roared, his voice echoing in the confined space. "You know how much I hate violence. You know how important this is for me!"
Pedri looked down, unable to meet Gavi's gaze. He knew he had hurt Gavi, not just with the physical blow, but with the betrayal of their trust. He had let his jealousy cloud his judgment, and now he was facing the consequences.
"I'm sorry, Gavi," he said, his voice thick with regret. "I lost control. I let my feelings get the better of me."
Gavi scoffed, his anger undiminished. "You can't just hit people, Pedri," he yelled, his voice laced with disappointment. "It's not the answer. It doesn't solve anything. And you know what? You're not the only one who has feelings!"
Pedri felt a wave of guilt wash over him, his heart sinking further into his chest. He had let his jealousy blind him to Gavi's feelings, his own insecurities fueling his impulsive actions.
"I know," Pedri said, his voice barely a murmur. "I know I messed up."
Gavi's anger seemed to intensify, his words coming out in a torrent of frustration. "You messed up, Pedri! You hurt me! You made me feel like I don't matter! You made me feel like I'm just some object you can fight over!"
Tears welled up in Pedri's eyes, his heart breaking at the sound of Gavi's voice, the raw emotion in his words. He had never seen Gavi so angry, so hurt.
"Gavi, please," Pedri pleaded, his voice choked with emotion. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I love you as a friend, Gavi. I just... I got scared."
Gavi stood there, his anger momentarily subdued, his gaze fixed on Pedri's tear-streaked face. He saw the raw vulnerability, the genuine remorse in Pedri's eyes. He knew Pedri loved him, but he also knew that love wasn't enough. He couldn't bear to see Pedri's pain, his own guilt and anger overwhelming him.
"I need time, Pedri," Gavi said, his voice cracking with unshed tears. "I need time to process this, to figure out what this means for us."
He turned and stormed out of the locker room, slamming the door behind him, leaving Pedri alone in the silence, his tears flowing freely, the weight of his actions pressing down on him, the pain of Gavi's anger a constant reminder of the damage he had caused. He knew he had a lot of work to do, a lot of amends to make. He had to find a way to regain Gavi's trust, to show him that he was worthy of his friendship, worthy of his love.
He knew it wouldn't be easy, but he was determined to try. He was determined to prove to Gavi, and to himself, that he could be better, that he could be the man Gavi deserved.
