The world was a hazy blur of white, a muffled symphony of beeping and murmuring voices. Gavi's eyelids fluttered, a sliver of light piercing through the darkness. He tried to open his eyes fully, but a wave of dizziness forced him to close them again.

He felt a hand, warm and familiar, holding his own. He squeezed it weakly, a faint flicker of recognition sparking within him. The hand squeezed back, the pressure gentle but firm.

He opened his eyes again, this time with a little more success. His vision was blurry, the room a kaleidoscope of colors and shadows. He saw a figure slumped in a chair beside his bed, their head bowed, their shoulders shaking with silent sobs.

He recognized the figure instantly. It was Pedri. His best friend, his confidante, his brother in arms. He had been gone for months, lost in a haze of pain and confusion, and now here he was, back in the world, with Pedri by his side.

"Pedri?" he croaked, his voice hoarse and weak.

Pedri's head shot up, his eyes widening in disbelief. He looked at Gavi, his face a mixture of shock and elation, his eyes filled with tears.

"Gavi?" he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion.

Gavi nodded, a faint smile tugging at his lips. He tried to speak again, but his throat was dry and his voice failed him. He squeezed Pedri's hand again, a silent reassurance that he was back, that he was alive.

Pedri leaned forward, burying his face in Gavi's hand, his tears falling onto his skin. He sobbed uncontrollably, his body wracked with relief and joy.

"You're awake," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. "You're alive."

Gavi felt a surge of warmth spread through his chest, a feeling of peace and contentment he hadn't experienced in months. He was alive, and Pedri was here, his presence a beacon of hope in the darkness.

He reached out, his hand finding its way to Pedri's hair, stroking it gently. He felt Pedri's body trembling against his, his sobs echoing in the quiet room.

"I'm here," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "I'm here, Pedri..."
