They were childhood friends. He was resolved to protect her till the end. He has vowed to never get married. But...
It was around 3:35 AM when I was walking outside, in the rain, towards the training grounds. Somehow the rain seemed to calm down my nerves. But my mind was still all over the place. I could not spot anyone apart from myself in the direction I was going.
There was no light apart from the slight moon light and some faint bedlights from a few houses. Moon seemed to be rather blue today. I just decided to go a little further and head back home.

When I was near forest of death, I heard some rustling. It seemed someone put their foot on the leaves. I turned back to see no one.
"Who is it?" I asked
No answer
"I said who is it? Come out now"
Then I saw silhouettes of 6 people coming from behind the trees, in a way enough to center me. I felt my throat becoming dry when I watched them come out
"You are a sharp one to notice in this rain that we were following you" the one standing opposite to me stated
"And a rather good looking one" the one standing at my right mentioned with a grin.
My heart beat was racing now as I anticipated the situation I'm currently in. While my mind was going all over the places of thinking of all the possible escape routes.
There was one standing opposite to me, one to my right, one to left, one towards north east, one towards north west and one towards my south east, standing closer to the second guy who grinned.
There was only one direction I could head to escape. Run back. I turned back towards my south west & started running with all my might. I ran as if my life depended on it. In a way I felt it really did.
Those guys were too fast to catch up with me, one guy caught my left hand and stopped me for a brief moment. He took out a kunai and started moving it towards my stomach when I stopped it using my hand. It was piercing. There was blood pouring from my hand.
Right before the other guys caught up with us, I took my hair pin and jabbed it into his thigh forcibly.
He yelled and released my hand. It was my cue to run. My legs moved on their own & I was now panting.
Those guys were just a few feet behind me. One of them threw out senbon needles. They pierced at multiple places on my back. I screamed in pain. I was slowly realizing that it is only a few more minutes that I'll last.
I ran faster now as I saw the cliff end. If they dared to approach me further, I'll just lure them to the cliff end and make them fall. That was my escape plan. Even if I go down, I'd not go without a fight.
Right when I got slight hope seeing this cliff end, one guy jumped in front of me & hit me on face. I fell down to my right. He then came & grabbed my hair to hit again. He grabbed my neck & lifted me up. My feet were now hanging in air.
