[S]itting in the chair next to Yuki's hospital bed, your eyes lingered on the crib beside you.

Relief washed over you; the baby was fine, and so was Yuki.

Across the room, Toge's gaze was fixed on the sleeping infant, his usually impassive face softened with interest. It was an adorable sight, but your mind was elsewhere, clouded by lingering thoughts.

"Y/N? Hey, Y/N?" Yuki's voice pulled you from your trance. She looked tired, understandably so, her pale face still showing signs of the exhausting ordeal of giving birth.

"Sorry, what were you saying?" you asked, refocusing on her.

"I was just wondering who those two pretty kids are," Yuki repeated, a warm smile playing on her lips. "Too bad they're too old to be yours, so..."

You couldn't help but bristle slightly at the thought that immediately came to mind. "They're... his students."

Even avoiding saying Gojo's name didn't help much. The frustration bubbled beneath the surface, and Yuki seemed to pick up on it immediately.

"Oh? Are you mad at him?" Yuki asked-whispered, her eyes narrowing with understanding. "Is that why he's not here with you?"

"Probably off wandering somewhere with..." you trailed off, not wanting to elaborate further, especially with Maki and Toge in the room.

The thought of Gojo casually enjoying himself while you'd been through hell—literally—made your blood boil. Broken bones, stress, worry for Yuki, and he was off with Utahime, of all people.

Sensing the tension, Yuki quickly intervened. "Hey, Yuichi! Why don't you take the kids for a walk? Maybe grab some snacks for everyone?"

Yuki's brother, who had introduced himself last night, nodded and offered a warm smile. "Sure, if they're up for it."

"Sounds good," Maki agreed with her usual straightforwardness, and Toge gave a silent nod, his expression neutral but understanding.

The kids weren't oblivious; they knew you needed privacy to discuss whatever was on your mind. Once they were gone, Yuki turned her attention back to you, her tone shifting to one of curiosity and concern.

"Alright, spill. What did he do this time?"

"W-who?" You tried to play it off, but Yuki wasn't buying it.

"Come on, you know who. Gojo-san, of course," she pressed, her knowing eyes locked onto yours.

You sighed, realizing there was no point in hiding it. "He's just... frustrating, that's all."

Yuki chuckled softly. "You've got that look like you're ready to curse him out in a thousand different ways. But seriously, what happened?"

You shook your head, exasperated. "It's just... while I was dealing with everything, he was off doing who knows what with... let's call her an acquaintance."

Yuki's eyes softened as she watched you. "I get it; you know—why you're upset."

"You do?" you murmured, the bitterness of Gojo's absence still stinging.

Yuki reached out, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. "You're jealous, aren't you? Seeing him with someone else... it's bothering you."

"What? No—" You started to deny it, but then sighed, feeling the weight of the truth settle in. "Maybe. I don't know."

"Don't brush it off," Yuki said with a knowing look. "It's normal to feel that way."

"Is it?" you asked, feeling a bit lost in your own emotions.

"Absolutely," she nodded. "No relationship is perfect or easy. If it's bothering you, talk to him. Let him know how you feel."

The idea of confronting Gojo about your feelings made your stomach twist.

You hadn't opened up like that to anyone in a long time, not since your last breakup. The thought of being vulnerable with him, of admitting you were hurt by his actions, felt like exposing a part of yourself you'd kept hidden.

"I doubt he'd listen," you muttered, frustration creeping into your voice. "Satoru's... well, he's Satoru. He doesn't take anything seriously."

"So what?" Yuki raised an eyebrow. "Does that change how you feel? You have to let him know. And if he doesn't get it, then maybe he's not the right one. A man who truly values you won't do anything to make you feel less than important. Be brave. Speak your mind."

You sighed, knowing she was right. The idea of stepping out of your comfort zone to confront him made you uncomfortable, but Yuki's words resonated. Even if Gojo didn't change, you needed to voice your feelings—for your own peace of mind, if nothing else.

"Okay," you agreed, albeit reluctantly. "I'll talk to him."

Yuki smiled, her support giving you a small measure of comfort, though the ache in your chest remained. Gojo's carefree nature, usually something you admired, felt like a heavy burden today.

"Anyway, I owe you a big thank you," Yuki said, her voice wavering slightly. You noticed her hand trembling as if she was about to touch on something sensitive.

"For what?" you asked, genuinely puzzled.

"For saving me and... the baby," she replied, her gaze dropping to the floor as her voice quivered. "I don't know how you did it, but if not for you, I would've lost the last piece of Shinji—"

She stopped herself, unable to continue. Understanding what she meant, you leaned in and wrapped your arms around her. The hug seemed to catch her off guard at first; her eyes widened in surprise before she returned the embrace, silently weeping into your shoulder.

She'd been carrying the weight of everything on her own, and you regretted not seeing it sooner.

"You don't need to thank me," you said softly, your voice steady despite the emotions swirling inside you. "I'm just glad that you and the baby are okay."

You hesitated, not wanting to dismiss her experience but also knowing that the world of curses and Jujutsu Sorcerers wasn't something she needed to carry—to know.

"I didn't do much," you added, trying to downplay your role.

Yuki pulled back slightly, wiping away her tears. "What do you mean? You know I was bleeding at the time... I know you did something."

"No," you shook your head gently, denying it. "If you and the little one made it through, it was a miracle. Maybe... maybe Shinji is still watching over you, wherever he is."

Your words seemed to soothe her, and she didn't press further. You were grateful for that, thankful that she wouldn't delve into the darker aspects of what had really happened.

Some things, after all, were better left in the shadows.
