[Y]ou were wrapped in Satoru's arms, the warmth of his bare body against your naked back providing a fleeting sense of comfort.
The moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow in the room.
"Are you not gonna ask?" Satoru's voice broke the silence, his tone unusually hesitant.
"Ask what?" you replied, trying to keep your voice steady.
"About—" Satoru paused, and you could feel him shift uncomfortably behind you. His arms tightened around you protectively. "About the STI report?"
You heaved a sigh, the reminder of that particular detail pulling you back to a reality you'd almost managed to forget amidst the chaos of Shinji's death. The recent incident had consumed your thoughts, but now, Satoru's question brought everything back to the forefront.
"Just so you know," Satoru continued, his voice softer now, almost... vulnerable. "I wasn't fucking around with anyone at the time."
His warmth was comforting, almost distracting, as you tried to process his words. "Then why?"
"Why what?"
"Why'd you get tested for STI?"
Satoru was silent for a moment, and you could feel the tension in his body. He took a deep breath before answering, his voice barely above a whisper. "It's a way to show I've got no weaknesses."
You turned slightly in his embrace to look at him, searching his eyes for any hint of deception. "I'm not sure I understand."
"I have a lot of enemies," Satoru explained, his gaze steady. "Some are obsessed with finding my weaknesses. Conducting regular STI tests is supposed to mislead them into thinking I'm just a carefree guy who fools around, keeping them from realizing no one gets close enough to know me well."
You studied his face, noting the sincerity in his eyes and the regret etched into his features.
It was hard to stay angry when you could see how much he cared, how far he was willing to go to protect his loved ones, even if it meant putting himself in uncomfortable situations.
"Am I?" you asked, your voice softer now, more understanding.
"What?"
"One of your people. Or your weaknesses. Though I doubt you, Satoru Gojo, have someone you consider a weakness."
He simply chuckled at that. "Didn't think you had jokes like that in you."
"It wasn't a joke. But glad you found it funny." You cracked a small smirk at him. He gazed down at you, his eyes almost searing into you lovingly.
"I do," he said, briefly kissing you and hugging you closer. "I do have someone dear to me, though I'm not sure if he's a weakness."
"He? Didn't take you for that kind of guy." You tried to make light of it, ignoring the sudden tightness in your stomach and pushing down the strange feeling of envy and jealousy for not being one of Satoru's dear ones.
"No funny ideas, babe," Satoru chided lightly, nibbling at your bottom lip in playful revenge. "He's a kid I took under my wing after, well, sort of killing his dad."
You tensed up at this, your eyes searching his. "You killed the boy's dad?"
"Mhm." The white-haired sorcerer nodded casually, clearly finding the act of playing with a strand of your hair more engaging than the gravity of the conversation.
"For god's sake, why can't any of your relationships be normal?"
"Normal and Satoru? Those don't exactly mix, babe."
"Doesn't he resent you?"
"Who knows? But one thing I'm sure of: Megumi couldn't care less about his old man. Whether he's dead or alive doesn't matter to him."
"Sounds like the award for the worst dad goes to that guy, huh?"
"Who am I to judge?" Satoru shrugged. "It's not like I know what it's like to be a good dad myself."
There was a slight pause as your fingers traveled to his forehead, teasing the lock of his bangs and brushing them off his eyes.
"You're surprisingly a lot more sensible than I thought."
"Come on, babe, I'm a pretty great guy, you know?"
"This is somehow a bit difficult for me to believe."
"Babe," Satoru whined in mock protest, but you leaned down to kiss him, silencing him.
"You're lucky we're out of condoms, otherwise I'd have kept your mouth busy all night long," you mumbled between kisses, hearing him chuckle.
"I'll hold you to that," he murmured, caressing your bare back. You were fully naked under the sheets because Gojo Satoru wanted it that way after your bath together. You should've felt embarrassed, but instead, it felt surprisingly intimate. "I'll have Ijichi get us some tomorrow. Seriously though, I'm holding you to your words."
"Don't," you chided, averting your gaze. "He'll know we're..."
"What? Sleeping together?" Gojo said bluntly, his words barely filtered. "Guess what, babe? I bet he already knows."
"W-what?"
"I'm saying he knows we're together."
"I heard what you said. I'm asking about... together? As in, we're dating?"
Gojo blinked at you before his lips twisted into a hint of a pout. "Unless that's not what you want."
"No." You quickly clarified, and for a moment, his face seemed to fall until you added, "I do want that. I wish I was your... um... woman."
Oddly, saying that you liked him out loud felt way more embarrassing than being naked in bed with him.
He chuckled again, causing your ears to heat up. "Look at you, Y/N, saying such sweet things. You're gonna make me blush."
