[EVERRIDGE HALLWAY - DAY]

Students are chatting, lockers are slamming shut, and the sound of laughter fills the air. The walls are adorned with posters for upcoming school events, and groups of friends are huddled together, discussing their day.

At a school like any other, where hallways are crowded with dreams and fears, two lives were about to cross paths, unknowingly setting the stage for a story neither would ever forget.

A small group of girls walking down the hallway, their conversation lively and animated.

On one side, there was Mia Jade - Mertineza - 17, petite, morena, straight healthy hair, with a smile that could light up a room. A dancer at heart, she moved through life with the same rhythm and energy that she brought to the stage. But beneath her cheerful exterior, there was more than met the eye.

She's laughing with her two best friends, Anna Reyes and Jenna Gables. They share a bond so strong that they're nearly inseparable, even when it comes to the restroom.

ANNA
(smirking) "In sync ka today sa practice ah! I swear, you're going to lead the squad to victory this year."

MIA
(grinning) "If only I could sync my grades with my dance moves, right?"

The girls laugh as they approach their lockers. Mia's playful expression falters for a brief moment as she retrieves her books, her mind drifting to the expectations at home.

She wasn't the smartest in the class, nor was she the least. A balance of hard work and moments of struggle defined her academic journey, but her heart lay in the rhythm of dance.

Mia glancing at a small family photo tucked inside her locker - her father, mother, older brother, and herself. She gently touches the photo, a small smile on her face.

Her family was her world. Her father's greatest wish was to see her graduate, and even though life was hard, his love for his youngest daughter was unwavering.

Mia closes her locker, a determined look in her eyes, masking the inner turmoil of ADHD and Bipolar disorder that only her closest friends understood.

[EVERRIDGE - BASKETBALL COURT - DAY]

The sound of sneakers squeaking on the court. A group of boys are playing an intense game of basketball. Among them is Jace Lawrence - Lim, tall, moreno, and the star of the team. The eldest of three, a varsity basketball player whose charm was as effortless as his shots from the three-point line.

Jace makes a perfect shot, and his teammates cheer. He's surrounded by friends, two girls Lorian Perez, Katty Vargas and a boy Aiden Benavides, all of whom adore him.

LORIAN
(teasing) "Jace, seryoso, how do you make it look so easy?"

JACE
(smiling) "Lots of practice... and siguro a little bit of luck."

As they continue playing, Jace's smile fades slightly, his mind briefly drifting to thoughts of his recent break-up.

He was the type of guy everyone liked - friendly, approachable, and always willing to lend a hand. But beneath his confident exterior was a heart that had recently been bruised, still healing from a love that wasn't meant to last.

The game continues, but Jace's mind isn't fully in it. He glances over to the sidelines, where his friends are watching, cheering him on.

[EVERRIDGE HALLWAY - DAY]

Mia and her friends are walking toward the school entrance, chatting about their weekend plans. Jace and his friends are heading in the opposite direction, laughing and talking.

The two groups pass each other, and for a split second, Mia and Jace's eyes meet.

Time seems to slow down as they lock eyes, both of them sensing something, but neither fully understanding what it is. The moment passes, and they continue walking, their lives moving forward as if nothing had happened.

They were just two strangers in a sea of faces, unaware that their paths had just crossed in the smallest of ways. But in that fleeting moment, something was set into motion - a story that neither of them could have anticipated.

Lia and Jace walk away in opposite directions, their lives momentarily intersecting before separating once more.
