Where Ever You Are, You Have To Come Back

CHAPTER 15:

— BUCK'S P.O.V —

"Hey," I greeted him when I opened the door. "Thank you for coming." I said.

"No problem. Thank you for inviting me." He smiled.

"Why don't you come in? I want you to meet somebody."

He got in and sat on the couch.

Eddie came from downstairs and said, "We have company?"

"Uh, yeah. Remember Dave?" I said.

"Oh, hey, Dave!" He said and he sat with him.

"H-Hi." He sounded nervous..

He cleared his throat, "What happened? I mean, that wound." He asked.

"He got into an accident the other day." I took the beers in the fridge, opened them and brought them to them.

"What kind of accident?" He asked as I gave him the bottle of beer.

"Someone broke into my apartment and he shot Eddie." I said and sat with Eddie.

"Yeah." Eddie agreed.

"Who do you think was that?" He asked.

"You." I threw a sharp glance at him as I put down my beer on the table.

"What- W-What?" He stuttered.

Now he really sounded nervous..

"Are you sure you want him to repeat it again? No, I'll repeat it." Eddie glared at him and said, "Are you the one who did this to me!?" He shouted.

"N-No.." His voice was shaking.

Eddie was really scary when he was mad.

"Y-You know what, I gotta go." He immediately got up and ran to the door.

But before he even opened it, Athena got in the way.

"Not so fast..." She paused, "... sweetheart." She continued.

Eddie and I got up as Dave looked at us.

"Cuff him." Athena ordered and the cops beside him obeyed.

"What is this!?" He yelled as the cops started cuffing him. "No!" He shouted.

"You shot Eddie." I said.

"Buck, help me, please!" He begged me.

"You hurt someone I love," I went closer to him. "You're not gonna get away from that." I said.

"I didn't mean to!" He yelled again.

"Yeah, right." I scoffed.

"Nobody was supposed to get hurt!" He said.

"Why would you even do something like this?? You have a son that loves you. And most of all, you were my friend!" I shouted at him. He was stunned.

"Yeah, because that's how you see me, a friend!" He yelled back.

"Take him out." Athena said. The cops started to take him outside but he was still refusing.

Eddie came to me and wrapped his arms around me.

"I like you, Evan!" Dave shouted.

We all stopped. Even the cops who were forcing him to get outside stopped either. Athena looked at me as Dave turned to us.

"What the...?" Eddie said.

"Ever since I saw you in our neighborhood, few years back." He confessed.

"Then, why would you hurt him!?" Eddie yelled.

"I thought that if I saved you, you will fall in love with me." He said, he was still looking at me. "But then, I saw you with this guy." He pointed at Eddie. "And I thought that if I give you a visit while he was out will make you leave him."

"You crazy, son of a—" I was about to go closer to him but Eddie got in the way and stopped me.

I swear, I could've killed him if it wasn't for Eddie.

"I'm in love with you." He insisted.

"You're selfish." I said with a tone of anger. "Take him away from me, before I rip his head off!" I was mad.

"Take him." Athena said and they got out. "We'll give you a call." Athena said to Eddie and he nodded.

As soon as they got out, Eddie put both of his hands on my cheeks, making me look into his eyes.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah.. yeah.." I said, but I felt tears falling down my cheeks.

I couldn't stop it, as my whole body was shaking and my heart and mind was full of anger.

Eddie wiped away my tears, kissed my forehead and hugged me. I cried on his shoulders. This wasn't a cry of sadness or guilt or anything. It was the anger that I was feeling for Dave.

How could he do something like this!? We were friends! If he really liked— loved me, then, why would he hurt me?? He was a psychopath! He was out of his mind! He was crazy and selfish as hell! There was no way I could forgive him for what he'd done to Eddie. To me.

"It's gonna be okay, Buck. We got him." Eddie said as he rubbed his hands on my back.

"Yeah..." I sniffled and said, "We got him.."
