"Baby you look so pretty." She takes my hand, I pull her in closer kissing her cheek. "So pretty."
"Did you ever figure out what people do on dates?" I hummed. "Kind of. She said that they just- do something together. Has to be romantic. So we could do anything and then just kiss every time we move."
"Oh smart. So I can quit and then we can kiss?" I checked the backseat, leaning back over, kissing her quickly. "Yes. And then I will take you to dinner."
"Exciting." I was t even sure he'd still expected her. I mean she's been gone for an entire month and a half. The chances of him actually expecting her back are pretty low. Lower than lower really.
She had a lot to talk about on the drive there. It was nice finally being back to normal. But all the new feelings were officially higher than anything so I was just stressed about everything I did.
And I can't tell her I love her on the first date that's insane. Maybe- no, fuck. No that's weird.
"Where the hell have you been? I need you changed and over there in fifteen minutes." He's about as low as my expectations. "I'm quitting." He went pale. "What?"
"I'm, quitting." I smack the cheque into his hand. "That is everything she owes you. All of it." He scoffs out a laugh. "I will ruin your life, you understand that?"
"Good luck with that. I'm really looking forward to seeing you post illegal porn- everywhere." She says, scrunching her nose.
"I will fucking kill you, I will have you killed, how are you going to get a job? You've. Been here forever. You will end up poor and homeless and he will let you go. Then I will fucking have you killed." She gasps. "Oh my god, I'm shaking in my 600 dollar shoes."
It's so bad it's almost good. "Okay well we're leaving. You have fun trying to ruin my life or whatever. Seriously I hope you have the time of your life. Fuck you! Fuck you too! I fucking hate you! You're pretty, call me! Fuck. You. Leon. Okay bye."
She takes my hand again, a smile on her face as she just walks away. "I have been wanting to do that since I got there. You know he cheated on his husband."
"Oh- my god. Now you tell me? You were being nice about him last month." She hums. "Yeah but I thought I was stuck there. Also he sells bad coke- he sells it coke. But most of it's bad. Oh and also he's weird as fuck."
I was hoping people were listening, she was talking loud enough and she was on the side where the line was. "He waters down the drinks. He makes the dancers do a line before they go on- I refused, most of us did. Uhm- there are so many things."
"I cannot believe you waited this long. You know I'm gonna make you tell me everything when we get home right?" She sighs. "Yeah- also I never actually like, officially worked there. I could have the whole place shut down with one piece of paper."
"One Piece." I said, hearing a couple others say it after. "That was great. Also, you should do it." She nods. "Probably. The place is awful. But then he'll be out to get me."
"Not to sound completely insane or anything, but that means you can kill him." I whispered. Her eyes slowly looking up at me as she smiled- but it quickly stopped. "No. No that's bad."
"Is it?" I said. "Yes." She mumbled. "Is it?" I asked again. "Yes."
"Okay like, is it?" She lets out a deep sigh. "Yes." She sounded so defeated. "That's fair."
The restaurant was pretty full, thankfully I called ahead because otherwise we'd be screwed. "You're- it's uhm, you're- sorry. Your table is, over there- I'll take you to it."
"Thank you." I take Atlas' hand, leaning down and kissing her forehead. "There's cameras, lots of cameras." I whispered. "Yeah I saw."
"But also the people near our table are arguing." She sets the menus down, speaking pretty quietly. Thankfully Calum used to do the same so I knew the language well. "Okay thank you."
I pushed Atlas' chair in, sitting down with both of us just sitting quietly. "Any drinks to start you out?" Thankfully they had her drink. "I'll be right back with those."
I hooked her feet over mine. Watching her stare down at her plate. "You didn't over react. You did the right thing."
"I did?" I lean forward, watching her do the same. "You did the right thing. You didn't do enough. I personally would've set fire to the clothes he was wearing. But you did a normal persons amount."
"Okay. What if he does- ruin my life?" She asked, quietly. "He's got nothing to ruin your life with anything because I had everything removed the second it was mentioned. I kept you off work in hopes that you would just get used to it and then build up the courage to quit."
"Why didn't you just tell me to?" I waited for her to laugh and realise but she was serious. "Baby, it wasn't my decision, you live your life and I just keep you safe. If it got to the point where I had tit elk you then I would've. But you make your own decisions."
"Oh. I forget I have choices." I didn't mean to laugh as loud as I did. "Sorry. I'm sorry."
"Here are your drinks." She had to order my food because I'd completely lost my mind trying to read. I also forgot my glasses so I was struggling desperately. "You forget something Luke?"
"No." She told me to pick them up five times. I just told her I would get them. I never did.
"Really?" I nodded, almost confident until I looked up, watching her hold them up with a knowing look. "Lying right to my face. Disgraceful."
"Baby I can't even see you properly so lying to your face is not easy right now-" I take the glasses from her, finally seeing the absence of a smile that I thought she had. "Oh you're so pretty. Hi sweet girl."
"You are the worst person in the world. I'm so serious you are awful." I blew her a kiss. Watching her roll her eyes at me. "Where did you want to go after this?"
"I'll end up cold and hurting if we go anywhere else." She said with a pout. "I have a jumper and shoes in the car for you. I just figured you'd want to go to the fair or something."
"I do." I gasped. "Foreshadowing." She kicks my shin. "You want it so badly I know it."
