"Have you seen Atlas anywhere?" I asked. Calum shook his head. "Last I saw her she was passed out in your dressing room."

"I brought her back with us. You said goodnight- you had an entire meal with her sat in front of you." He gasped. "Oh my god I forgot about that."

"Are you okay?" I asked, moving the hair from his face. "Yeah. I'm tired, I'm sorry."

"No it's okay. I just can't find her anywhere and she's not answering her phone." The front door opened, Hailey making her way in. "Damn it."

"Hello to you too." She huffs out. "No where's Atlas? She's not here."

"Call her." My shoulders dropped. "You don't think I already did that?" She scoffs at me. "Don't sass me right now. Call again." I did as she said, mostly to shut her up.

But I got nothing. So I called again. And again.

Until eventually I heard a very annoyed groan. "Who the fuck is this!?" My eye twitches. "If you touch one single fucking hair on her head, I will make you eat your own liver. Am I clear?"

"You know you're not set in her contacts right? She's also crying, will you tell her to shut up." I was already in the car before I'd gotten anything out of him.

I'm not sure if Calum and Hailey were following but it was probably best that they didn't. They'd end up hurt too and I didn't want to have that too.

I knew exactly where he was just by the sounds of the beeping.

I knew it wasn't like last time. I had to be quiet and quick. But I didn't have anything on me to actually kill him with, I could use my hands, but they were still hurting from burning them on the pipes yesterday.

I moved quietly into the basement. Hiding in every possible place that I could, until I got close enough to see them both. "You're not really his type, I was sort of confused when I picked you up. I really didn't think it was real."

"If you're going to kill em then do it because you're getting really boring." He presses the knife to her throat, my hand grabbing his hair. Pulling him out of the light.

This really wasn't something she needed to see, I was going to keep it from her as long as I could.

I've never tried to break somebody's neck so quietly. Watching the other guy make his way in. Slowly but surely I just had a pile.

Until it finally stopped. I moved out from the corner, the lack of blood was probably what made her calmer than she was. "I thought I was going to die."

"I'm sorry baby. I just didn't want you to see- any of what I just did." I reached behind me, groaning as I grabbed nothing. "Damn it- wait. No this is metal. I don't know what I was thinking. Did they hurt you?"

"I have a couple cuts but they're like paper cuts. What are you doing?" She laughed. "Trying to break this. Why is the ceiling so high. My god. Did you see them wrap this in anything up there?"

"They bolted it there." I looked around, trying to find something. "Hold on."

I pulled myself up the chain, checking the pipes- they were pillars. They should hold if I pulled on them. "How are you gonna get down?"

"From this height I think the most I'll get is a little nervous." I grabbed the pillar, looking up before I dropped. Landing right on my feet.

"You're like a little cat." I hummed, making my way over. "Tell me if it hurts okay."

"What are you going to do?" I pull on the chain. Hearing it echo. "That- I don't like that noise. It shouldn't echo in a room like this. There's something wrong."

"What could possibly make this worse?" I followed the chain back up, holding her shirt as I stepped out from in front of her. "The whole place would have collapsed if I'd done that."

"Wonderful. How'd you know that?" I lift her chin up. "You see all that dark?" She hums. "That's what the pillars are supposed to be attached to. If it's echoing at that pitch then that means it's thin. The pillars are too heavy to hold all the thin brick. The roof goes up about a story high. Walk this way, baby."

She follows along, I couldn't help but smile at it. "That is absolutely incredible. I mean it's so stupid that somebody built this and it was allowed for construction. But thank god for stupid people. Keep walking this way."

She moves down further. "There is absolutely nothing up there- it might even be two stories. The pitch is a little odd so I can't completely figure it out- oh- wait. Keep walking."

The chain slips from the pillar, I pull her forward as it falls behind her. "Two stories. The roof is made of glass. If I'd pulled any harder they would've broken and we would've died and been covered in spiders."

"There is no way you can just tell that that's two stories from the pitch of the echo. Wouldn't it echo down here too?"

"Too much wood down here. It's cold up there too so it's loud. I can hear it cracking. Which doesn't make sense because I didn't pull it too hard."

"They were messing up there. They were like the lost boys. It was terrifying. I hate the dark and they just kept messing in it and scaring me it was awful."

"I'm so sorry baby. I was looking for you for so long. I called so many times. I didn't know you were scared of the dark. I'm sorry, I feel awful."

The second I got the chains from her wrists she was wrapped around me. "It's okay. I got you. Come on." I felt so awful, the whole walk back to the car she was jumping at every sound the glass made.

"It's just breaking. There's nothing up there." She thought so much about it that she'd caused herself to cry. "Baby there's nothing up there. It's not real. The glass is breaking, the pillars are pulling the walls in."

"You made it seem so fun but I can't, get it out of my head- wait no I don't want to get in and be alone- I'm sorry. No it's fine I-"

"I'll be right beside you. Come on." I pulled her around to the drivers side. Sitting her on my lap and checking the back just to ease her mind a little. "Just you and me."

"I'm sorry." I rest my hand on her cheek as she falls into my chest. "Don't be sorry. You've been alone in the dark so much and you've never said anything. I need you to tell me these things. It's okay to feel these but if I can help then I will."

"I'm just scared you'll think of me differently." She said quietly. "I wouldn't. It's that simple, I wouldn't ever think of you any differently. I wouldn't ever lie to you, or hurt you. I know that trust isn't something that comes easy for you but I'm hoping that you'll find it easier soon. You are safe to talk about these things."

She hugs herself closer to me. "Is the building going to fall apart?" I looked up at the roof. "I'd say I'm about ten minutes yeah. It'll shatter from the pressure first. All the glass with turn into rain and because it's thick it'll cause everything to vibrate a little and the walls will try and play dominoes."

"Is it an old building?" She sniffles. "No. I won't say anything bad about it. It's new, just not built right." Him felt her lip quiver. "That's so sad. What's going to go here?"

"What did you imagine there?" I move her hair from her face. "A garden, or a plant store."

"I'll send a suggestion then, okay? It'll get a second chance. Don't worry." She sniffles again. "I don't know why I'm crying over a building."

"Empathy is a virtue. Did you want to stay? Or would you rather let it fall without you hearing it?" She nodded. "I think I would end up insane if I saw it."

"Come on then. Let's get you home." She moves into her seat. Keeping a hold on my hand as she watches the roof slowly cave. "It's so sad." She chokes out. "I know baby, it's okay."
