The ride in Jay’s car was a smooth, silent affair, with the tension between Jungwon and Jay making the air almost palpable. Jay’s friends, however, remained quiet, their attention split between the city outside and Jungwon himself. Jungwon could feel their gazes flicking toward him now and then, sizing him up, but they said nothing.

After a short drive, the car pulled up in front of an upscale restaurant. It was the kind of place Jungwon had only ever seen in movies or on TV, with a valet at the door and a polished exterior that hinted at exclusivity. Jay stepped out first, offering his hand to help Jungwon out of the car.

As they walked toward the entrance, Heeseung, Sunghoon, and Niki followed closely behind, their presence a reminder of the world Jungwon was now stepping into. Jay led them into a private room at the back of the restaurant, where a large, elegant table awaited them.

Once seated, Jay ordered a bottle of wine for the table, while the others engaged in light conversation. Jungwon found himself sitting between Jay and Niki, feeling slightly out of place but trying to mask his unease.

“So, Jungwon,” Heeseung began, his voice smooth and casual, “Jay mentioned you have a couple of friends you’re close with.”

Jungwon blinked, not expecting the sudden shift in conversation. “Uh, yeah,” he replied, glancing at Jay, who gave him an encouraging nod. “Jake and Sunoo. We’ve been friends since our first year of college.”

Sunghoon, who had been silent until now, leaned forward slightly, his sharp eyes focused on Jungwon. “Tell us about them. What are they like?”

Jungwon hesitated, unsure why they were interested, but decided to answer anyway. “Jake’s the kind of guy who’s always looking out for everyone. He’s reliable, smart, and he has this natural charm that makes people gravitate toward him. Sunoo, on the other hand, is energetic and always full of life. He’s a bit of a social butterfly, and he’s got this way of making everyone around him smile.”

Heeseung and Sunghoon exchanged a glance, and Jungwon couldn’t help but notice the subtle look of interest in their eyes. Heeseung’s lips curved into a small smile. “They sound like interesting people. Maybe we should meet them sometime.”

Jay chuckled softly, sipping his wine. “I’m sure that can be arranged.”

Niki, who had been listening quietly, leaned closer to Jungwon, his voice playful. “What about you, Jungwon? Which one of them are you closest to?”

Jungwon looked at Niki, sensing the underlying curiosity in his tone. “I’m close with both of them, but in different ways. Jake’s like an older brother, someone I can always count on. Sunoo’s more like a best friend—he’s always there to lift my spirits when I’m down.”

Niki grinned, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Sounds like fun. Maybe I’ll take Sunoo off your hands for a while. He sounds like someone I’d get along with.”

Jungwon raised an eyebrow, not missing the hint of flirtation in Niki’s voice. “I’m sure he’d enjoy your company,” he replied carefully, unsure of how Sunoo would react to Niki’s interest.

As the conversation continued, it became increasingly clear that Heeseung, Sunghoon, and Niki were more than just casually interested in Jake and Sunoo. They seemed intrigued, and Jungwon couldn’t help but feel a bit protective of his friends. He knew these men were used to getting what they wanted, but Jake and Sunoo were important to him. He didn’t want them to get caught up in something they weren’t prepared for.

When the meal finally ended, Jay stood up, signaling that it was time to leave. As they walked back to the car, Heeseung and Sunghoon lingered behind with Jungwon, while Niki stayed close to Jay.

“Jungwon,” Heeseung said, his tone more serious now, “do you think Jake would be interested in meeting us? I think we’d get along well.”

Sunghoon nodded in agreement. “He sounds like someone who’d fit right in with our group.”

Jungwon hesitated, unsure of how to respond. “I… I’m not sure. I mean, Jake’s not exactly used to this kind of lifestyle.”

Heeseung smiled, a confident edge to his expression. “We’re not asking him to dive in headfirst. Just a casual meeting, see if we click.”

Jungwon glanced at Sunghoon, who was watching him with an unreadable expression. He could see the appeal of Heeseung and Sunghoon—both were undeniably attractive and carried themselves with a kind of effortless charisma. But he also knew Jake, and he wasn’t sure how his friend would handle being the center of their attention.

“I’ll talk to him,” Jungwon finally said, knowing that he couldn’t outright refuse. “But I can’t make any promises.”

“That’s all we ask,” Sunghoon replied, his smile returning.

As they reached the car, Niki was already leaning against the door, looking more relaxed than before. “So, when can I meet Sunoo?” he asked with a grin, clearly eager to pursue his newfound interest.

Jungwon sighed, realizing that he might not have much of a choice in the matter. “I’ll… see what I can do.”

Niki’s grin widened. “Great. I’m looking forward to it.”

The drive back to Jungwon’s apartment was quiet, with Jay resting a hand on Jungwon’s knee, a silent reassurance. When they finally pulled up to his building, Jay walked him to the door, his expression softening as they stood in the dim light of the hallway.

“Thank you for tonight,” Jay said, his voice low. “I know this is all new to you, but you handled it well.”

Jungwon smiled faintly, still feeling the weight of everything that had happened. “It’s a lot to take in, but… I think I’m getting used to it.”

Jay leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to Jungwon’s forehead. “Good. Get some rest, okay? I’ll see you soon.”

With that, Jay turned and walked back to the car, leaving Jungwon standing at his door, his mind racing. As he watched the car drive away, he couldn’t help but wonder what the future held for him, Jake, and Sunoo. He knew one thing for sure—things were about to get a lot more complicated.
