CHAPTER 15: LEPRECHAUN
SORCHA'S POV
"Siri, call The Good Twin. On speaker."
"Calling, The Good Twin."
It's my and my brother's thing. I'm the evil twin, and he's the good twin. Narinig kasi namin iyon sa dating kaibigan ni Mama na tinanong ang nanay namin kung sino raw sa aming kambal ang evil twin dahil lagi raw na meron no'n sa magkakambal. She followed it with a joke that it should be me kasi raw maldita ako dahil hindi ako palangiti. Hence, why she's no longer my mother's friend.
It became an inside joke in the family. Kinaniya ko na ang role na iyon tutal mas bagay naman talaga sa akin iyon kesa sa kapatid kong kahit ata napapadaan lang na kalapati ay kayang kaibiganin. She's like Snow White, and I'm the evil stepmother.
"Please don't tell me that you called me while your hand is inside someone's body cavity."
"I didn't call you while my hand is inside someone's body cavity."
He groaned, hearing the lie in my sarcastic tone. It's the middle of the night, and I'm currently in the middle of autopsying Vanessa Santana. I've been in here in the autopsy suite or the forensic pathology laboratory for more than four hours. I'll probably still be in here for a little longer though I'm nearly done. He ended the call himself since he knew that I wouldn't be able to. Sigurado rin na tatawagan no'n ang isa sa mga Bolster na nasa Dagger para ibili ako ng inumin sa cafeteria o sa TDN kung bukas pa iyon.
It's better to drink coffee, if I'm being honest, but I only drink coffee once or twice a week now. Sinasanay ko na kasi ang sarili ko na wala iyon dahil napapansin ko na nagkakaroon na ako ng tolerance doon. Dumating na kasi sa punto na nakakailang kape ako para lang tumama iyon sa akin.
Kaya ngayon nakukuntento na ako sa chocolate drink or any sweet fruit drink bilang pampagising. Kahit naman kasi sanay ako na magtrabaho nang magtrabaho ay tinatamaan pa rin naman ako ng pagkainip at antok. Isa pa ay sobrang lamig dito sa pathology laboratory kaya mas lalong parang hinihila ka para matulog.
