As Taehyung waited at the airport, he couldn't help but wonder what this mysterious girl looked like. He checked his watch for what felt like the hundredth time, eager to get this over with.
And then, he saw her. Jennie. Walking out of the arrivals gate, looking stunning as ever. Her long black hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, and her piercing brown eyes sparkled in the dim airport light.
Taehyung's heart skipped a beat. His mind went blank. He felt like he'd been punched in the gut. What was she doing here? Why did Sejin bring them together?
He stood there, frozen, as Jennie scanned the crowd, her eyes searching for someone. And then, they met. Her gaze locked onto his, and for a moment, time stood still.
Taehyung's memories came flooding back. The laughter, the tears, the moments they shared. It all came rushing back, and he felt like he was drowning in emotions.
Jennie's eyes widened in surprise, and she slowed her pace, her eyes fixed on Taehyung. He could see the questions in her eyes, the uncertainty.
Taehyung's instincts told him to turn and run, but his legs wouldn't move. He was rooted to the spot, unable to look away from the girl who had once held his heart.
Jennie's eyes were still fixed on Taehyung when her phone rang, breaking the spell. She hesitated for a moment before answering.
"Hey, Jennie!" Jisoo's voice chirped on the other end. "I'm so sorry, but I won't be able to pick you up from the airport. I'm busy preparing to leave for Jeju, and I won't make it on time."
Jennie's eyes narrowed, her mind racing. Who was this "someone else" Jisoo had sent?
"Who did you send?" Jennie asked, trying to keep her tone neutral.
But before Jisoo could answer, the call dropped. Jennie's eyes widened in frustration. She was about to curse Jisoo out, but her gaze met Taehyung's again, and she remembered where she was.
Taehyung's eyes narrowed as Jennie approached him. He could feel his heart racing, but he convinced himself he was over her. He'd moved on, and her presence shouldn't affect him.
But as she drew closer, he felt a surge of annoyance. What was she doing here? And why did Sejin send him to pick her up?
Jennie's eyes sparkled with amusement, and Taehyung's irritation grew. He didn't want to be affected by her, but her presence was like a punch to the gut.
As Jennie approached the car, Taehyung suddenly stopped her. "Wait, you don't need to come with me. I'll just give you a bus ticket, and you can take the express bus to Jeju."
Jennie's eyes widened in surprise. "What? No, I thought you were here to pick me up?"
Taehyung shrugged. "Sejin said someone needed to bring you to the bus terminal. That's all."
He handed her a ticket for the express bus, known as the "limousine bus" in Korea, which would take her directly to Jeju Island.
"Here, take this. The bus will take you to Jeju Terminal. You can't miss it."
Jennie's face fell, but Taehyung just turned and walked back to his car, leaving her standing alone at the curb.
"Hey, wait!" Jennie called out, but Taehyung just drove off without looking back.
Jennie stood there, frozen in shock, as Taehyung drove away without a second glance. She felt a deep sting from his abrupt dismissal, like a slap in the face. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as she struggled to process what had just happened.
