The evening was serene as Abhimanyu stepped into the Goenka Villa. The entire place was decked out beautifully for Janmashtami, with lights sparkling like stars, flowers adding a pop of color, and a subtle fragrance filling the air. Despite the festive decorations, the house seemed oddly quiet, almost as if it was holding its breath. Abhimanyu looked around, but no one was in sight.

As he continued walking, his eyes fell on Akshara. She was wearing a stunning pink lehenga, carefully checking the decorations to make sure everything was perfect. Her hair was styled elegantly, and she looked radiant, lost in her tasks.

As Abhimanyu watched her from a distance, a sudden slip of her foot caught his eye. Before she could hit the ground, Abhimanyu rushed forward and caught her just in time, pulling her into his arms.

Akshara's eyes were tightly shut, her heart racing. She hadn't expected to fall, and when she felt a pair of strong arms around her, she slowly opened her eyes. To her surprise, she found herself face-to-face with Abhimanyu, his concerned eyes locked onto hers.

They both stood there for a moment, lost in each other's gaze, the world around them fading into the background.

Abhimanyu couldn't take his eyes off her; the familiarity of having her close brought back a rush of memories. Akshara quickly composed herself and stepped back, trying to gather her thoughts. "Thank you," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Abhimanyu nodded, still staring at her with a lingering concern. "Be careful, Akshara," he said gently, his voice filled with a mix of care and a hint of something unspoken.

Breaking the awkward silence, Abhimanyu asked, "Where's Abhir? I thought he'd be excited for Janmashtami."

Akshara pointed toward the direction of Abhir's room. "He's upstairs, but... he's been quiet all day," she said, her voice tinged with worry.

Abhimanyu nodded and made his way to Abhir's room. As he opened the door, he found Abhir sitting on the bed, holding his Krishna outfit in his hands, looking lost and distant. The usually cheerful child looked burdened, and it pained Abhimanyu to see him this way.

Abhimanyu approached him slowly, kneeling beside him. "Abhir, what's going on? You haven't changed yet." He asked, his voice soft and comforting. But instead of answering, Abhir suddenly hugged Abhimanyu tightly, burying his face in his shoulder.

Abhimanyu was taken aback by the sudden embrace. He wrapped his arms around Abhir, trying to offer the comfort the little boy seemed to need. "What's wrong, junior? You can tell me anything, you know that," Abhimanyu whispered, his heart aching to see Abhir so upset.

Abhir pulled away slowly, wiping his eyes. He looked at Abhimanyu with a mix of confusion and sadness. "I... I just... I couldn't get ready," he mumbled, avoiding eye contact.

Abhimanyu smiled gently, trying to lighten the mood. "It's okay, Abhir. Sometimes, we all need a little help." He looked at the Krishna outfit Abhir was holding. "How about I get you ready today? I think I'm up for the challenge."

Abhir managed a small smile, nodding. "Okay, today you get me ready," he agreed, handing over the outfit.

As Abhimanyu helped Abhir dress up as little Krishna, the room filled with a sense of calm. He carefully tied the dhoti, placed the tiny crown on Abhir's head, and adjusted the peacock feather. As he worked, he kept talking to Abhir, trying to cheer him up with stories of Krishna and his mischief.

"Look at you, junior! You look just like Krishna," Abhimanyu said, holding up a small mirror for Abhir to see. Abhir glanced at his reflection, and for the first time that day, he smiled genuinely.
