Inside the operating theater, tension fills the room. The steady beep of the heart monitor for Abhir suddenly begins to slow, each beep echoing like a distant drumbeat signaling trouble. Dr. Mahima, Dr. Anand, and Dr. Parth huddle together, whispering urgently about the next steps to stabilize Abhir. Their voices are calm yet filled with a sense of urgency.
Dr. Mahima says, “We need to increase the dosage of the vasopressors; his blood pressure is dropping.”
Dr. Parth nods, “Agreed, but we need to be careful. His body is already under too much stress. We can’t push him too hard.”
Dr. Anand adds, “What about the bypass? Should we prepare?”
While they discuss, Abhimanyu stands apart, his eyes fixed on Abhir's small, fragile body. His mind is clouded with a whirlwind of emotions—fear, guilt, hope. His son, his little junior, is lying there fighting for his life, and all he can think of is how he let this happen. He clenches his fists, trying to focus, but his heart feels heavy, almost unbearable.
Suddenly, the heart monitor lets out a loud, prolonged beep—Abhir's heart rate is dropping fast. Mahima's voice rises, “We’re losing him! We need to act now!”
Outside the operating theater, the scene is equally chaotic. Akshara, pacing back and forth, is inconsolable. Tears stream down her face as she keeps praying, “Abhir, please stay with us. Please, God, save my son.”
Keesha, Kairav, and the others try to calm her down, but nothing works. Akshara is trembling, her eyes wide with terror. Then, as if the universe answers her silent prayers, her body sways and she collapses, unconscious, to the floor.
“Akshu!” Kairav shouts, rushing to her side. Keesha, pale with fear, tries to wake her up. “Akshu, wake up! Please, stay with us.”
Arshia and Keesha quickly move Akshara to a nearby room, where they start checking her vitals. Keesha mutters, “She’s in shock. We need to stabilize her before she gets worse.”
Meanwhile, outside, Karan has just arrived. He approaches Kairav and Vansh, who are anxiously waiting. “How is everyone holding up?” Karan asks, his voice laced with concern.
Kairav sighs, “Barely. The elders at home are beyond worried. We had to convince them that Abhir will be okay. But now, Akshu is unconscious too.”
Upon hearing this, Karan's eyes widen, and without another word, he rushes to the room where Akshara is. He sees her lying there, unconscious, with Keesha and Arshia attending to her. His heart sinks further, seeing her like this. “Akshara… please, wake up,” he whispers, fear evident in his voice.
Back in the operating theater, the situation has escalated. Abhir’s condition continues to worsen. Abhimanyu's breath catches in his throat as he fights back the tears threatening to spill over. This was his son—his blood—and he felt helpless.
A nurse bursts into the room, her face pale and urgent. “Dr. Abhimanyu, the patient’s mother has collapsed outside. She’s unconscious.”
The words hit Abhimanyu like a sledgehammer. His vision blurs with tears, his breath catches, and for a moment, he feels like the ground is slipping from under his feet. He mutters to himself, “Akshu…”
Dr. Anand, sensing his nephew's struggle, puts a hand on Abhimanyu’s shoulder. “Abhimanyu, focus. We need you here. We can’t lose him.”
But Abhimanyu’s mind is spinning. His heart aches for Akshara, imagining her lifeless outside, while his son is fighting to stay alive inside. His voice breaks, “What if I lose them both? I can’t… I can’t let that happen.”
