KGOMOTSO
I've completely forgotten about the bruises that creep left me and was now wondering why the heck we're in Mpumalanga. Hazyview, to be exact. The area we're at is surrounded by a lot of trees, with a house that's big enough to look like a lodge. It's almost like Khumbuzile's house in Weverly, and slightly bigger than Lesego's house and Felicia's house.
There's that green Quantum. It's probably that Sipho guy who drove them here. No other fancy cars except this one we're in.
She parks the car by the front porch of the house.Kgomotso: "Why are we here?"
I'm not even suspicious at this point. I just want to know.
She completely ignores me and leaves the car. She opens the boot and gets my bags herself. I'm angry at all of them; Lesego, Felicia and my mother.I leave the car and follow Felicia inside.
I can't lie, it's a really beautiful house that actually feels like home. It's actually a lodge, but with a homely feel. I look to my left and there's a TV that's against the wall and near the end of the couch there's a door leading to the back porch where I can hear children playing. The Kunupi children.
Felicia: "Settle down on the couch. I'll show you where your room is in a minute." She disappears.
This family and disappearing into who-knows-where!
"Kgomotso!" I turn to my left and it's Lebone. She sounds like she's catching her breath. She's dying, but she chuckles.
Lebone: "Motso, how are you?" she says once she's finally caught her breath.
To be honest, I'm happy to see her. It somehow brings a sense of relief though I'm still not okay.
Kgomotso: "I'm doing okay, just a little tired. And you?"
Lebone: "I'm fine. When did you arrive?"
Kgomotso: "Just now."
Lebone: "Come. Let's go."
Uh... no thanks.
But she's too nice to say no to.
Argh, fine! I'll go!"Mama!" Brian says leading the pack with him. They all run to me and come hug me. It's like they haven't seen me in years and honestly, I'm quite happy to see them too.
Tlhalefo: "Hi Ma."
I told him to stop calling me that, but I accepted it. It's rooted in him, in all of them. Anyone who is related to their father is their father too and whoever marries them is their mother too. I guess that's how it works in this family.
I hug him and then hug Tamia last. She also seems very happy to see me.The back yard is huge!
There's even a stream or a river or whatever type of water is behind that fence I can see from a distance. Where is this place? How did they find it?Lebone and I walk to the lapa area and sit as we watch the kids play freely. I'm admiring this image. This family might be a crazy one but the children, man. It's the children. They bring sanity to all these people, Lesego included. I have a feeling he'll be a good father seeing the way he was when Brian and Leano came over and when Felica's kids came over that day in December.
Kgomotso: "Would you like to have kids one day?" I ask her, looking at the children.
I look at her and she chuckles and smiles.
Lebone: "To be honest, I didn't want children. I never wanted to be a mother until I was financially stable. And then Lebo came around and my perspective of motherhood changed. So yes, KG, I do want to be a mother. I want to be a mother to Lebo's children, all of them. You?"
