KGOMOTSO
Today is the day my hard work pays off. I'll finally be wearing that graduation gown I've always dreamed of wearing since I was little. Everyone special to me is here, Lesego, my friends, Mahlodi and my parents. It's a big day today and I appreciate my parents for coming all the way to see their only child achieve something. I'm also a scared. Mostly for Lesego because he'll be meeting my parents for the first time and he really wants to make a good impression. We chose this day as everyone will be there and everyone will get to know the man who makes me happy.
I'm seated amongst all the other students, some I've studied with, some are just people I know.
But we're here today, it's my day. And it's also exactly a week before my birthday.
I walk up to the stage, kneeling before the Chancellor as he hands my degree. I walk and turn to face the front and I see my parent's face beaming with pride as they clap hands for me.
Lesego is seated right next to my father. I wonder how that went down. But what matters is now that now it's done. It's over. I'm officially a graduate now!__________
Mahlodi: "Cuzzy, I'm so proud of you!" She said giving me the biggest hug.
Khosi: "MMATAAAAA!!!!!"
Oh man! These girls.
Busi: "Group hug!"
We're outside the building where it's really busy. I'm surrounded by my friends and Mahlodi. I don't know where my parents and Lesego are.
Mantwa: "I'm so proud of you girlfriend. You are finally a graduate!"
I'm so done with UP now. All I can think of is stepping into my office as the interior designer for Mac & Co. Though I got it in a dodgy way because of Mr Kunupi, but at least I get to work my dream job.
"Kgomotso!" That has to be my dad. I know his voice.
I look up and I see him calling me to take photos. He has his camera ready. Lesego is standing next to my father. I have a feeling that my father already likes him even though he wasn't formally introduced.
Kgomotso: "Come guys, let's take pictures."
The Mashaba way of life, as Mahlodi likes to call it. I know my family loves taking photos for every moment. We literally have three photo albums now just filled with pictures of us.
I took a picture with everyone, including Lesego. I'm surpised my father allowed it. Yep, I'm convinced my father already likes him.Papa: "Uhm, everyone. I just want to thank you all for coming just for my daughter. You all are really appreciated." My dad again with the speeches.
Mama: "Mashaba, save the speech for later when we eat." We all laugh.
Papa: "Okay ge."
LESEGO
I won't lie, I was nervous as hell when I saw him. No man has ever intimidated me besides my father. I realise then that I had to impress him for his blessing and after he got to know some things about me, I'm confident enough to say that I've impressed him. I think it's what I told him about growing up in a farm that left him impressed.
Mashaba: "Err, Kunupi, do you mind paying the bills?"
Lesego: "I don't mind at all."
Mashaba: "Thank you." He says shaking my hand. He leans closer to me. "You have my blessing." He says in my ear.
Lesego: "Thank you sir."

I never have housekeepers in my house. Mainly because I don't trust them. You'll tell them to clean something and then they find something they're not supposed to see. Especially in this house. We've got too many things we want to keep hidden, like guns and other things they're not supposed to find.
