Town Square.....

Kajo arrived at the town square, spotting Eirak leaning against a fountain. Eirak's eyes lit up as Kajo approached.

"Hey," Eirak said, his voice laced with nervousness.

"Hey," Kajo replied, smiling.

Eirak took a deep breath. "About last night... I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

Kajo waved his hand dismissively. "You didn't. I was just surprised, that's all."

Eirak's face lit up with relief. "Oh, thank goodness. I thought I messed everything up."

Kajo chuckled. "Not at all. I liked the kiss, actually."

Eirak's eyes sparkled. "Really?"

Kajo nodded. "Yeah. But next time, warn me, okay?"

Eirak laughed. "Deal!"

They strolled through the square, enjoying each other's company.

Later that day, Kajo and Eirak met up with the rest of their team.

Saji greeted them with a nod. And a questioning look in his eyes as to why Kajo was with Eirak, then he remembered the last night they were all together.

They must have gone on the so called Food catching.

He pouted without anyone noticing.

Thrain clapped Kajo on the back. "Ready to take on those rats again?"

Lyrien smirked. "I'm always ready for a challenge."

Kael appeared silently, his eyes scanning the group.

Eirak smiled. "Let's gear up and head out."

_

Five hours later......

Having cleared the outer part of the dungeon, they ventured into the Rat King's boss room.

the team worked seamlessly together, finally being able to use a balanced formation.

Saji unleashed lightning Strikes, while Thrain dealt massive damage with his massive sword. Lyrien cast dark spells to weaken the rats, and Kael snuck up behind enemies, striking with deadly Cuts. Eirak protected the group with his Paladin shields, and Kajo healed wounds with his Cleric magic.

Thankfully, they didn't encounter any mutants.

After clearing the dungeon, they assessed their progress.

Saji grinned. "Level 2, finally!"

Kajo smiled. "Congrats, Saji! I hit level 3.  And I'm close to level 4"

Eirak nodded. "Not bad, Kajo."

Thrain chuckled. "We make a good team."

Lyrien nodded. "We should do this more often."

As they exited the dungeon, Kajo turned to Eirak. "Want to grab dinner together?"

Eirak's face lit up. "Love to."

"Okay Same place, same table" he said to him.

Saji gave them both a strange look but didn't comment about it.

_

As the team said their goodbyes, Kajo nodded at Saji without meeting his eyes. He couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt, knowing he had developed feelings for Eirak.
