As Kajo and Xandi approached the gate, a sudden dome of purple energy enveloped them. They found themselves surrounded by several people in sleek, lightweight armor, who immediately went into attack mode. However, before things escalated, a young man in a green robe approached them, holding up his hands in a calming gesture.
"Wait, please! I mean no harm. I just want to talk, if you have the time."
Kajo's instincts told him to be cautious, but his curiosity got the better of him. "What do you want to talk about?"
The young man smiled and nodded. "Let's walk and talk. Please, follow me."
He led them towards a bustling building that seemed to be the center of attention in the village. The building was unlike anything Kajo had ever seen before - it was enormous, with walls made of earth and a roof that seemed to be a latticework of interconnected arches.
As they walked in, Kajo saw that the building was teeming with people, all busy with various activities.
"Welcome to the Makers Guild," the young man said, with a sweeping gesture. "I am Him, by the way. And you are...?"
Kajo hesitated for a moment before responding, "I'm Kajo. And this is Xandi, my brother. He's an elemental."
Him's eyes lit up with interest. "Ah, an elemental! I would love to know more about you, Kajo. Your... aura is quite unique."
Kajo smiled, intrigued by Him's curiosity. "What do you mean?"
Him leaned in, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Let's just say, I've never met anyone like you before. I'd love to hear your story."
Kajo thought quickly and came up with a forged story. "I'm from a small village on the other side of the continent. I was trained by my father, a renowned healer, from a young age. He taught me everything I know before he passed away."
Him listened intently, his expression unreadable. Kajo wondered if he believed him, but Him didn't press the issue. Instead, he smiled and said, "Wait here, I'll be back."
As Him left the office, Kajo couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He realized that revealing his true class, even if it was by accident, was a mistake. He promised himself to be more careful in the future.
The world was indeed becoming a different place for Kajo. He missed his father dearly, but he knew he had to move forward. He had his own people to take care of now, and an empire to build.
Kajo's thoughts were interrupted by Him's return. "Kajo, I've spoken to our Guild Master, and he's interested in meeting you. Please, follow me."
Kajo nodded, wondering what lay ahead. He stood up, and Xandi followed closely behind, his eyes fixed on Him.
As they walked, Kajo couldn't help but feel a sense of determination. He would build his empire, and he would do it his way. No more hiding, no more lies. It was time to forge his own path.
Kajo followed Him to the Guild Master's office, where he met Harold, a powerful-looking man with a kind face.
"Ah, Kajo, welcome," Harold said, his eyes twinkling with interest. "I hear you're a healer. We don't often get those around here."
Kajo nodded, feeling a sense of unease. "Yes, I am."
Harold leaned forward, his voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "I have an elite team that could use someone with your skills."
Kajo hesitated, unsure of what to say. He didn't want to get involved with anyone who might discover his true identity.
"I appreciate the offer, but I already have a team I work with," he said finally, trying to sound confident.
