Kajo and Saji had power leveled up till they even ranked up in a day

It is something not many people can do in a year, yet they did it.

"Desperate times really call for desperate measures," Kajo said, shaking his head.

Saji nodded.

"now we're powerful enough to protect ourselves against others. We're way stronger than anyone in our age group."

Their advanced stats allowed them to zip through the forest, no longer needing their horses.

As they approached the town, they saw smoke billowing into the sky.

"Something's wrong," Saji said, concern etched on his face.

Kajo nodded.

"Use your weather sense."

Saji focused on his Weather Sense, mentally scanning the area.

"What do you see?" Kajo asked.

Saji's face fell.

"Ruins... death... everything's destroyed. I can feel it in the air."

Kajo's expression turned grim.

"No powerful enemies nearby. Let's proceed cautiously."

They approached the town walls, their hearts sinking at the sight of the devastation.

Their dads lay lifeless on the ground, surrounded by scorch marks and ashes.

Saji's face contorted in anguish.

"No...! Dad...!"

He rushed to his dad's side, tears streaming down his face.

"Why couldn't I protect you?! Why couldn't I save anyone?!"

A loud burst of electricity exploded from him, causing the air to crackle.

Kajo tried to comfort Saji.

"Saji, stop! You can't blame yourself!"

But Saji's grief was overwhelming.

At the sound of familiar voices the young ones that were spared from the flames came out of their hiding places.

He asked the closest person.

"What happened? Who did this?"

The teen shook his head, pointing towards the burning guildhall in tears.

"The guildhall... Eirak... everyone...!"

Saji wailed, lightning bolts raining down from the sky.

Everyone took cover.

Only Kajo walked towards him amidst the cyclone.

"Saji, I'm here!"

With an empathic wave, Kajo healed Saji's heart.

Saji passed out in Kajo's arms.

Kajo gathered the survivors – 18 in total.

"Let's get to my house," Kajo said.

The house stood untouched by flames.

Kajo healed the survivors with empathic waves.

"Rest," he urged. "I'll take care of the flames."

He went outside and slowly poured water over the flames putting them out.
