The next day....

After eating some roasted potatoes and dried meat from his inventory they Found a little lake and washed themselves before continuing their journey.

As they strolled, Xandi asked.

"Kajo, what's the plan for Oakbrooks village?"

"Acquiring the map is priority," Kajo replied. "We might gather information on nearby dungeons or quests."

Xandi nodded.

"Sounds good. I'll keep an eye out for any potential threats."

Kajo grinned.

Their conversation flowed easily and as the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over the forest, They set camp with Kajo activating a destructive energy dome around them for protection.

As Kajo drifted off to sleep, nestled beneath the stars alongside Xandi, his mind began to wander.

Tomorrow, we'll reach Oakbrooks.

I haven't seen other humans outside of my home in so long.

What will they be like?

Will they be friendly, or will they see me as a stranger, a threat?

Kajo's thoughts swirled with uncertainty.

Xandi's presence beside him brought comfort.

At least I'm not alone.

Xandi's Light elemental talent made him a valuable ally.

Together, we'll get that map and begin our next phase of plans.

Kajo's thoughts shifted to Saji and the others back at camp.

I hope they're doing well.

Saji's smile flashed in his mind.

I miss him already.

But this trip is necessary.

We need that map to move forward.

As Kajo's thoughts slowed, his breathing deepened, and his mind settled into a peaceful slumber.

The forest's tranquility enveloped him, and the sound of Xandi's gentle snores reassured him.

Tomorrow would bring new challenges and opportunities.

But for now, Kajo rested.
.....

As they approached Oakbrooks village, Kajo and Xandi were struck by its sheer scale.

The village was nestled among giant oak trees, their trunks as wide as houses, and the buildings seemed to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings.

It had taken them two days of walking to reach the village, and Kajo had taken precautions to alter their appearances and conceal their identities.

As they approached the massive gates, Kajo pulled up his hood, and they joined the queue of people waiting to enter. The guards were meticulous, searching each person and asking their reasons for visiting the village. When it was their turn,

Guard: "Halt! Who goes there? What brings you to Oakbrooks village?"

Kajo: "Greetings, good sir. I'm a traveler, and this is my companion, Xandi. He's mute, but skilled in his own way. We've come to explore the village and purchase some goods. We've heard Oakbrooks is a hub for trade."

Guard: "A mute, you say? That's unusual."

Kajo and Xandi were searched

"What brings you to our village specifically? Cuz you don't look like locals from these parts"
