Wednesday
Richmond stood outside on the main balcony of the apartment, dressed in a new pair of red Converse shoes, white socks, red shirt and his black hoodie, looking up at the clear blue sky and then looking down onto the street six floors below.
It was the day that he and his Horsemen family would finally be returning home to New York with Carrie coming along for the ride as well.
Richmond and his cousins had been up and about since 7:30 AM that morning and, after having had breakfast where they consumed the last of the cereal, orange juice and milk, they had been making their final preparations to depart from the apartment.
By this time, they had gone through every single drawer and cabinet in the apartment, checking and double checking to be sure that nothing had been forgotten or overlooked while they'd been packing.
Over the past days the Horsemen had spent much of their time doing various things within the apartment that they needed to get done before they left for home, including completing all their laundry, including the ironing, as well as packing up all their cases, and spending as much time as they could with their American friends before they left.
At the mall, they had bought quite a few things as well as buying five large hampers that were just full of different varieties of chocolate and candy, as well as a few of the five-pound Hershey chocolate bars, from their favourite candy store.
The group of friends had also gone out to dinner every evening at the mall, and went to a different restaurant there each time, and made sure that most of the food already at the apartment had been eaten before Wednesday.
Indeed, the night before, Sue, Tommy, Heather, George, Erika and Freddy had spent some time at the apartment with Richmond, Carrie, Daniel, Merritt, Jack, Dylan, Eric, Herb, Spikey and Heller Josh are having one last social get-together, where they consumed the last of the goodies that had been left over from the small graduation party they had enjoyed the previous week, including the last few cans of soda.
Now though, with all their bags fully packed at last with everything they had and sitting out in the living room ready to go.
Stepping inside from the balcony, Richmond went back into the master bedroom for one final time to have a last look round; it sure felt different now, seeing all the clutter gone, nothing sitting on the bedside cabinets and the closet empty.
Taking a final thorough look within the drawers, presses and within the bedside cabinets, he was satisfied to see they were all empty, and then he checked under the bed to see nothing was left there.
Stepping back out into the kitchen area, he noticed Herb, Eric, Heller Josh and Spikey coming out of the other bedrooms, having just finished their final checks themselves.
Richmond: All done in those rooms?
Spikey: Yes, all done, big bro. Nothing left to pack.
Herb: When will the porters arrive here? It's almost 8:50 AM and they should be here.
Then, there were three knocks at the door.
Richmond: Speak of the devil, I'd say that's them now.
He went over to the door and opened it. A moment later, Merritt and Dylan stepped inside.
Dylan: We're here to collect your things and bring them downstairs.
Richmond: Of course, let's load them up.
Richmond put his laptop bag and camera bag over his shoulders before grabbing one of his cases.
In no time at all the two luggage that had the bags and candy hampers are loaded in Richmond's trunk of his GTR they left the apartment for the last time and headed downstairs in the elevators to the ground floor where Carrie is already waiting for them in reception with their bags.
