Pierce thought about what the demon just said about there being a Twelve Demon Moons on the mountain.
Pierce: “The Twelve Demon Moons should have a larger concentration of Kibutsuji’s blood.” “If I could get their blood, it’ll speed up the completion of the medicine to turn Noi back into a human.”
He then remembered Ein.
Pierce: “Right!” “I have to get back to Ein.”
He ran back to Ein and saw that his wounds were bleeding quite a lot. But Ein didn’t seem fazed by it.
Ein: “Did you defeat the demon?”
Instead of answering him, Pierce asked if he was okay.
Pierce: “Are you okay, Ein?”
Ein: “I’m asking if you defeated the demon or not!”
Pierce: “Uh yeah, I did.” “But that’s not important right now.” “Your injuries.”
Ein was getting annoyed at him.
Ein: “I don’t need your concern!” “Listen carefully.” “Make sure you understand this.” “Whatever you can achieve, I can do it too!” “Soon, my head will be sturdier than your!”
As he rambled on, Pierce was lost in thought by Ein’s wounds and how he wasn’t able to save their comrades.
Pierce’s mind: “He’s seriously injured.” “I didn’t manage to save our comrades.” “Not to mention that the demon was giving off the scent of both fear and suffering.” “Enough to make her accept her death with open arms.” “What’s happening on this mountain?” “A family of demons is perched here.” “But I thought demons don’t work in groups?”
He then realized something.
Pierce: “Hold on.”
Ein: “Eh?” “What is it now?”
Pierce looked around and didn’t see Sky anywhere.
Pierce: “Where did Sky go?” “I’m sure she was right behind us?” “Come to think of it, she wasn’t with us when we were fighting the headless demon.”
Ein scoffed.
Ein: “She must have chicken out and ran off the mountain!”
Pierce shook his head as he spoke.
Pierce: “That’s not like her.”
He became a bit worried.
Pierce: “But I’m a little worried for her.”
Meanwhile; Sky was walking around trying to find the others to regroup.
Sky: “Pierce!” “Ein!” “Anyone!”
She sighed in defeat when she didn’t get a response.
Sky: “I can’t believe I got lost again.” “I was sure I was right behind them, but I must have taken a wrong turn or something.”
As she walked, she heard some chirping coming from above. She stopped and looked up to see her blue robin; Amber.
Sky: “Amber?”
She cupped her hands for Amber, and they landed in her hands.
Sky: “At least you’re here with me.”
Amber chirped as they jumped in Sky’s hands. Sky sighed a little.
Sky: “I wish I could understand what you’re saying.” “But I hope you’re saying some encouraging things.”
