Otto paced his office as the bells sounded in the city in celebration. Another son, the queen had given her brother another son; this son named for his father. And along with him, a new dragon. It appearing to the Hand that (Y/n) Targaryen was truly blessed. The new prince Viserys, as big and strong as his older brother Jaehaerys had been when he was born. And after this, Otto knew that there would be more; for the queen had sworn to give her husband as many heirs as his heart may desire, and given that the king seemed to find it hard to keep his hands.......or anything else too far away from his wife, the Hand could only imagine how many more dragons would make their way into the world, before the pair were finished.

He had done his best to make himself seem more affable to the queen, since she had taken on her role. He had done his best to quell his anger when he had seen the young woman that he had attempted to send the queen after the birth of her first son, walking with the female dragon around the Keep, after he had sent the nursemaid back to her village. The trembling girl having informed him, once he had been able to corner her, that the queen had given her a role with her; and no matter his threats or attempted coercion, the promise of dragon fire if she were to betray the queen, was a greater fear than anything that the Hand could come up with. And he had done his best to make it seem that he had surrendered to whatever the female dragon wanted. But he knew that no matter what he did, (Y/n) knew him better. Knew that no matter what he might do or say; no matter how he may act, she would never think anything but the worst of him. Otto finally stopping his pacing and dropping himself into the large chair behind the desk.

It not that it hadn't always been the same. Despite the fact that the kingdom had been rife with rumours that Viserys had been bedding his sister since the day that she had come of age. That this relationship had lasted until not long before the oldest son of Baelon had taken Aemma as his wife, when it was announced that Viserys would be wed to the daughter of Daella Targaryen and not his own sister, Otto had made it obvious that he would be more than interested in claiming (Y/n)'s hand, despite the fact that his wife, and mother of his children, Alyrie Florent had still been alive at the time. Otto making no apologies to his wife or anyone else, for his desires. The notion of having a dragon as a bride, of being wed to the only daughter of Baelon, too appealing to give a damn about what others may think. The knowledge of the power that such a match would bring him, outweighing any care for his wife's feelings. But when (Y/n) had discovered his desires; when Alyrie had gone to speak with the princess, the beauteous Targaryen taken aback by the pleading of the Lady Hightower, for her not to take her husband from her; (Y/n) had made it quite clear that she had known nothing of Otto's interest in a marriage to her. That, and she had no desire whatsoever to have anything to do with the head of House Hightower. (Y/n) having stormed to his office with Alyrie in tow, before throwing open the door and telling him in no uncertain terms that neither her hand, nor anything else would ever be taken by him. The princess telling him that his concerns should be with the wife that he already had, and not her. And so, it had continued, her disdain for him, and everything he was, quite clear to all if his name was even so much as to be mentioned to her.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. A heavy sigh leaving his lips before he called out for his visitor to enter. Maestre Mellos opening the door.

"My Lord Hand. I was wondering if you would like to accompany me to give our congratulations to the King and Queen on the birth of their new son. It is such a good day to welcome a new prince into the world, do you not think? And the people of Kings Landing appear to be overjoyed with the news. I swear that streets are just as filled with joy as when prince Jaehaerys was born." The maestre said. Otto doing his best to not roll his eyes. I having become obvious that despite the fact that the maestre was not allowed to treat the king, queen nor the prince Jaehaerys, the queen had still managed to win the older man over; an ability that the exquisite dragon had always had.

"I have much work still to do, Maestre Mellos, so if you will excuse me. I will.........."

"Oh, of course, Lord Hand. I am sure that the King and Queen will understand that your work is far more important than the birth of their second son. I will be sure to let them know that you will come to give them your felicitations when the moment better suits you.........." Mellos replied, giving the Hand a smile, before moving back to the door.

"Wait......" Otto called out, as he slowly got to his feet. The maestre turning back to look at him.

"You are quite right. There is nothing more important than the birth of the new prince. I would be delighted to join you in giving the King and Queen my best wished for prince Viserys." Otto continued, as he made his way over to Mellos. The Hand more than aware that his absence would be twisted by all those that wished to claim his power and position; that wished to see him gone not only from the Keep, but from Kings Landing. Mellos nodding and smiling once more, before both men left the room and made their way towards the royal quarters.
